“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger is finally opening up about her experience behind bars. She’s sat down for two in-depth interviews so far, with the most recent being on the daytime talk show “Sherri,” where she shared vulnerable thoughts about how she’s changed since last being an official cast member on the Bravo show.
For context, the RHOP star was sentenced in February 2025 following her DUI arrest from the year prior. She served six months of her sentence, with her release coming in September 2025. Following her release, Huger’s first public appearance was at BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas.
RHOP Star Karen Huger Says She Is a Changed Woman
Huger appeared on “Sherri” on February 12 to discuss what she gained from her time behind bars. One of the most notable sections of the conversation came when the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star revealed why being behind bars was such a humbling experience.
Huger said during the episode, “The reality of being inside is that your liberties are gone. It’s a humbling experience, but it’s an empowering experience if you don’t fight it. If you take it for what it’s supposed to be, which is to better you, and to continue on my healing of addiction.”
From there, the reality star discussed how she went to rehab before beginning her jail sentence. She said, “That was really important, and I could not understand. The timing was just surreal. I’m coming out of treatment where I think I’m healed, and I continued treatment inside.”
Elsewhere in the “Sherri” interview, Huger took accountability for her previous decision to drink and drive. She said, “I wanna be clear, crystal clear. No one should drink and drive. I was wrong. Absolutely, dead wrong. So grateful no one was killed. No one was hurt. I’m so grateful to be alive. I could have died. There are so many gratitudes.”
Regarding her future on the show, Huger said, “Whether I return or not, you know, that’s to be seen.”
She Will Be at the ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ Season 10 Reunion
The cast of “Real Housewives of Potomac” filmed the three-part reunion in January 2026. Bravo then released the seating chart on January 8, confirming that Huger would be a part of the special despite not being a cast member for season 10. Notably, fans saw her in the season finale, which featured her much-talked-about sit-down interview with Andy Cohen.
As of writing, part one of the reunion has aired, and Huger was not featured. However, based on the trailer, fans can expect to see her give her co-star Wendy Osefo some legal advice when she appears.
Part two of the “Real Housewives of Potomac” season 10 reunion airs on February 22, with the final part airing the following week, March 1.
