Gizelle Bryant is giving fans a heartfelt update on her friendship with Karen Huger following Huger’s recent release from prison.
The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star appeared on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” on Oct. 5, just one day after the Season 10 premiere of “RHOP.” During the episode, she opened up about reconnecting with Karen after her Sept. 2 release — and had nothing but positive things to say.
Gizelle Bryant Reveals Where She Stands with Karen Huger
“She’s doing good. She looks good,” Gizelle told host Andy Cohen. “She got like a nice little booty. She looks really good.”
Gizelle added that she missed having her longtime co-star around during filming and was relieved to see her doing well again. “But I really missed her, so I’m super happy she’s home,” she said.
The reunion between the two Housewives marks a new chapter for their friendship, which has weathered its fair share of ups and downs on the Bravo reality series.
Ashley Darby’s Reaction to Karen Huger’s Release From Prison
Fellow “RHOP” cast member Ashley Darby also shared her thoughts about Karen’s return during the show’s Season 10 premiere party on Sept. 30. Speaking with The Daily Dish, Ashley revealed she had checked in with Karen and sent her a thoughtful gift to welcome her back home.
“Yes, I did a little check in on Karen, as many of us knew, the big day came,” she said. “And she’s been taking her time to, what I understand, really connect with her family. So I’m hoping to see her very soon when she’s ready. I sent her some flowers addressed to ‘Lady H,’ as is appropriate, but I really do want to see her.”
Ashley had previously expressed concern for Huger following her sentencing, admitting she “cried like a baby” when she heard the news and adding, “I really care about her.”
Karen Huger’s Prison Sentencing & Gizelle’s Emotional Reaction
Karen was sentenced to six months in prison after being found guilty of driving under the influence following a car accident in March 2024. The incident and its aftermath were addressed during the Season 10 premiere of “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” which aired Oct. 5.
In a confessional, Gizelle reflected on the difficult situation and the mix of emotions she felt about her friend’s sentencing.
“I feel so many different emotions. I wish this weren’t happening,” she admitted. “Do I want Karen in jail? Absolutely not. But do I want to make sure that we don’t have a fifth DUI? For sure. But I just want my Karen back, I really do.”
The trailer for “RHOP” Season 10 also showed Gizelle writing a heartfelt letter to her co-star while Karen was still serving her sentence. “Dear Karen, not a day goes by where I don’t think about you. In a lot of ways, life has been moving on, and some things haven’t changed at all. I need some help with these hoes. Love, Gizelle,” she wrote, in true Housewives fashion.
