‘RHOP’ Star Karen Huger Is Now a Free Woman [Video]

The news broke near the end of August 2025 that Real Housewives of Potomac star Karen Huger had scored an early prison release. This was never confirmed, but it seems that Huger, known as the Grand Dame, is now a free woman.

Huger was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center in Maryland on September 2. The Queens of Bravo page on Instagram took to the platform to share footage. Notably, it appears that a production crew member was present for her release.

The account used a text overlay that reads, “BREAKING: Karen Huger has officially been released from jail and the Bravo cameras were at the scene.”

The post contained two images as well as a video of Huger. In the first, she can be seen being driven away from the facility. The next shows someone, seemingly a member of RHOP production, with a camera capturing her exit. Regarding the video, it shows her waving from the rear of an SUV as a crowd cheers for her.

It Was Reported in August that Huger was Being Released Early

Most fans of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” assumed that Huger would serve her whole sentence. However, The Jasmine Brand reported on August 26 that this was not the case. Sources told the outlet that the RHOP star would be getting out on September 2. This news followed a judge’s sentencing in February 2025.

Huger was found guilty in December 2024 on multiple counts related to her DUI arrest from March of that year. As fans now know, this was the “Real Housewives of Potomac” star’s fourth time being accused of driving while under the influence. She was sentenced to two years with one year suspended, meaning she was supposed to serve one year behind bars.

Huger also received fines totaling $2,900 and was given five years of probation. According to the previously mentioned report, she won’t be able to drive for a year.

There’s a Chance She Could be on ‘RHOP’ Season 10

Season 10 of “The Real Housewives of Potomac” is set to premiere on October 5. Bravo released the trailer on August 28, and it included cast member Gizelle Bryant writing a letter to Huger while she was in prison.

While filming has seemingly wrapped for the show, there’s still a chance Bravo could include Huger in the season. This is especially the case if the person filming her prison release was from the production crew. Additionally, they could film a sit-down with the RHOP star to be included in the show.
