Season 2 of “The Golden Bachelor” is in full swing, with the Oct. 1 episode sending four more women home without a rose. Mel Owens is growing closer to the remaining nine contestants, with viewers already making their guesses at who the former NFL player will choose in the end.
However, a new teaser for what’s to come hints that not everyone may be there for the right reasons.
Tension Rises Between the Remaining Women on ‘The Golden Bachelor’
ABCA new teaser for “The Golden Bachelor” shows Mel Owens and his remaining nine women facing tension as the journey to find love continues.
As each woman grows closer to Owens, leading to plenty more kisses in the upcoming episodes, suspicions also rise that someone may be there for the wrong reasons. Towards the end of the clip, a few of the ladies are sitting together when Nicolle, who won a one-on-one date with Owens in episode 3, shares, “The longer I’m here, the more opportunities I’m going to have.”
She continues, “I would love to become more and more of an influencer.” But Peg chimes in with, “I just want a nice guy,” proving that she is there to find love.
Learning that Nicolle may only be there for fame, Robin is seen telling Cindy, Gerri, and Carol what she has learned. She is urged by the women to confront Owens with this news and is seen telling him, “There are people that I don’t think are being completely authentic with you.” Owens replies, “They’re here for the wrong reasons.”
Unfortunately, the idea that a contestant might be on reality TV for fame rather than love is nothing new.
‘The Golden Bachelor’ Frontrunners
ABC“The Golden Bachelor” is only a few episodes in, but viewers are already seeing strong connections forming between Owens and several of the women.
Cheryl, a 66 year old Colorado native, won the first one-on-one date with Owens after he believed she had the “best entrance of the night,” which saw her riding in on her motorcycle instead of coming out of the limo. “Cheryl is my type of girl, she’s adventurous, tough, funny, a little bit of a daredevil. That alone sets her apart from the other women,” Owens said during their date.
Cindy, a 60 year old retired biomedical engineer from Texas, also appears to be a frontrunner. She made the strongest impression on him during a group date and was given a rose by Owens. While she became worried that she would not get enough alone time with him during episode 3, it’s safe to say that Owens has a strong interest in her, handing her a rose that night.
There’s also 65 year old Debbie, who has never been married, but after a private cooking class with Owens, she sees herself potentially walking down the aisle. Additionally, there is also Nicolle, 64, who had no issues making out with Owens in front of all the women in the pool. While some of the women seem threatened by her strong approach, she’s simply following her instincts, showing that she’s genuinely attracted to him and completely comfortable in his presence.
Which of the remaining nine women do you think is the strongest frontrunner for Owens?
