TLC Star Shares Health Update After Being Airlifted to the Hospital

Breaking Amish” alum Jeremiah Raber revealed the terrifying reason he needed to be airlifted while revealing he is focusing on his health.

Jeremiah Raber Was Airlifted to the Hospital

Raber revealed in a December 30 TikTok video that he was waiting to be airlifted to the hospital as medical professionals believed he was experiencing “possible kidney failure.”

The former reality star explained that his blood sugar level was at 993, along with possible liver failure.

In a follow up TikTok Live on Tuesday, January 6, Raber explained that he is a Type 1 diabetic after contracting the disease during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“After I had Covid in 2020, about six months later, I became a Type 1 diabetic,” he explained. “Covid went after people’s hearts, their pancreas, and all that stuff. And it went after my pancreas.”

According to the National Library of Medicine, “During the COVID-19 pandemic, cases of hyperglycemia, diabetic ketoacidosis, and new diabetes increased, suggesting that SARS-CoV-2 may be a trigger for or unmask T1D.”

Why Did Jeremiah Raber Need to Be Airlifted?

During his Tuesday TikTok Live, one fan questioned whether the TLC alum regularly checks his blood sugar, as is necessary for diabetic patients.

“Every day. But I was in sepsis from a spider bite,” he explained. “I am doing better.”
