Bill Avery and Nathan Grant have been working throughout the season to uncover the cause of the wildfire that threatened Hope Valley. Their investigation has focused on Pioneer Electric and whether the company bears responsibility for the disaster.
In episode 10, Georgie McGill joined Nathan and Bill in developing a strategy to hold the company accountable. The group also recruited Rosemary Coulter to assist in gathering information.
Rosemary used her acting skills to meet with an insurance representative and raise questions about who may have been responsible for starting the fire. Afterward, Nathan, Bill, and Georgie praised her performance and expressed confidence that the truth would eventually come out.

WCTH Season 13 Episode 10 Recap: Romance and Investigations Continue

Elizabeth Thornton received unexpected news from her mother, Charlotte Thornton, who told her she would be extending her stay in town. Elizabeth responded happily, believing that her son LJ would enjoy spending more time with his grandmother.
Meanwhile, Nathan Grant revealed to Ned Yost that he planned to propose to Elizabeth. When Ned asked Nathan about Elizabeth’s ring size, Nathan admitted he had no idea how to find out.
Nathan later enlisted his daughter, Allie Grant, to help him secretly learn the information. During the process, Allie became emotional as she discussed her relationship with Elizabeth.
“I love Elizabeth so much,” Allie told her father.
Nathan eventually selected a ring and shared his plans with Charlotte.
During their conversation, he explained how important Elizabeth and LJ have become in his life.
“I love LJ with all of my heart,” Nathan told Charlotte.
Nathan also asked Charlotte for her blessing before proposing.
Later, Nathan and Charlotte visited the grave of Elizabeth’s late husband, Jack Thornton. Nathan spoke openly while standing at the gravesite.
“It’s such a gift to watch LJ grow up,” Nathan said. “I’m going to ask Elizabeth to marry me.”
Elsewhere, Lucas Bouchard opened up to Leland Coulter about his personal struggles. Leland encouraged Lucas to face his feelings and move forward rather than allowing past relationships to define his future.
