“When Calls the Heart” season 13 has been full of story arcs that have seen romance flourish into lifelong partnerships, two towns come together in support of each other and unforgettable memories made between friends who became family.
Although Hearties would like to see “WCTH” continue every Sunday (and trust us, we do too!), the season 13 finale is just around the corner on Sunday, March 22, at 8/7c.
Fortunately, “Hope Valley: 1874,” the new prequel to “WCTH,” is scheduled to premiere on the night before the season 13 finale, on Saturday, March 21. The prequel will exclusively be available on Hallmark+, where new episodes will be aired every Thursday during the 8-episode season.
Will Elizabeth & Nathan Get Engaged in ‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 13 Finale?
Ahead of the season 13 “WCTH” finale on the Hallmark Channel, Kevin McGarry‘s character, Constable Nathan Grant, made an effort to propose to Erin Krakow‘s Elizabeth Thornton. Although he was met with several obstacles, Nathan is expected to ask for Elizabeth’s hand in marriage in the finale episode titled “Harvest Moon.”
The episode leading into the season finale also saw Hope Valley successfully find justice for the wildfire. During the trial, James Drew Dean‘s character, Christopher Hughes, who knew that Pioneer Electric had illegally covered up having been responsible for the fire, barged through the doors of the courtroom just in time to reveal the truth. Once Pioneer Electric was found guilty, many of the townspeople celebrated — but not too hard before the Harvest Festival — which will see Hope Valley send off their friends from Benson Hills in the finale after their town is rebuilt.
Stars from “WCTH” will be hosting the season 13 finale with actors from “Hope Valley: 1874.” In an Instagram video shared by “WCTH,” Krakow, McGarry, Chris McNally, Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith joined Benjamin Ayres and Bethany Joy Lenz to emphasize their excitement about the prequel.
Hearties Agree They Aren’t Ready for ‘WCTH’ Season 13 to End
It was also shared that during the finale episode, a sneak peek of “Hope Valley: 1874,” separate from the season premiere, will be revealed. “See you next Sunday for the season finale of When Calls the Heart and an exclusive sneak peek of Hope Valley: 1874! #Hearties,” the video’s caption read.
Hearties expressed their conflicting opinions in the comments of the video, where some fans shared how excited they are for the “WCTH” prequel, while others said they aren’t ready for season 13 to come to an end.
“Not ready for the season to end already 😢,” one wrote.
“Can’t wait!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” said another of the “Hope Valley: 1874” premiere.
“No! 😭 Not the finale. Season 13 just started,” added a third.

Please put Hope Valley 1874 on the Hallmark Channel some people can’t afford to pay for Hallmark Plus
I completely agree! Besides the cost (I’m on a fixed income) my cable provider does not have Hallmark + capability!
