Cooper’s dad, Joseph, tells his wife, Minnie, that he won’t be able to attend the trial because he can’t fathom facing Pioneer Electric, who had no problem placing blame on Cooper and Toby. Minnie decides to attend so she can see justice for her son and Hope Valley.

During the trial, Bill gives a speech about the shattered dreams of those affected by the wildfire as he emphasizes that justice be served for the cover-up. The defense calls for Christopher Hughes, who is still missing. Nathan gives his testimony to the court, claiming that Pioneer Electric’s transformer is solely responsible for the fire.

Bill presents the court with a signed confession from Christopher, reiterating Nathan’s testimony. The defense attorney questions Nathan about evidence and lack thereof. Still, Nathan remains hopeful that justice will be served.

Bill questions Georgie as she takes the stand. Again, as a prosecutor, Bill hits a wall with presenting hard evidence against Pioneer Electric before going into the second day of trial.

LJ asks Elizabeth and Nathan if he can join Cooper and Toby for their overnight hiking trip. LJ asks Allie if she will join the group so he can go with the boys. When she says no, LJ gets upset and runs upstairs to his room.

During the second day of the trial, Pioneer Electric takes the stand to explain that they orchestrated a controlled burn and in no way started the wildfire. Bill corners the company when he questions them about a fake farm company they created in an effort to get out of their cover-up crime. The judge pauses the trial until the next day.

Christopher’s dad, Henry, joins Rosemary on the radio so he can usher a message to his son, asking him to come back home to Hope Valley and do “the right thing.”

At last! Christopher rushes through the courtroom doors during the third day of the trial. He brought the transformer with him after digging it up and tells the judge that his written testimony was all factual.

Hope Valley wins the trial, and Pioneer Electric is found guilty for starting the wildfire.

Christopher and his dad Henry mend their relationship during a walk to debrief about the trial.

LJ finds himself in a sticky situation right as Nathan is about to propose to Elizabeth, forcing them to take a raincheck for the romantic moment.
