If there’s one thing that brings the “When Calls the Heart” cast together, it’s the child actors who bring both their talents and innocent energy to the set.
In a new 10-photo Instagram carousel posted by ‘WCTH’ star Erin Krakow, she shared unseen photos of the many kids who make the Hallmark series as successful as it is.
One adorable photo features Sofia Hodsoni, who plays Talia; Chloe McKinnon, who plays Lily Watson; Hyland Goodrich, who plays Little Jack; and another young actor as they stood grouped together during filming.
Little Jack Gets a Pencil Stuck Up His Nose
Another image shows Opal Weise actor Ava Grace Cooper, Allie Grant actor Jaeda Lily Miller and a young male star while they snapped a playful selfie in their onscreen costumes.
A third picture gave a behind-the-scenes look at filming from inside Elizabeth Thornton’s classroom. The pupils in the photo were seated and ready to learn from their beloved teacher. Goodrich’s Little Jack was even caught sticking a pencil up his nose in one candid picture.
Hearties found the unseen bits comical, with one commenting, “I’m here for all of the fun, including discrete pencil moves!” While another wrote, “Awwww…l love all the schoolhouse BTS! Can’t wait for this episode..we need more cowbell.”
‘WCTH’ Season 13, Episode 3 ‘Back to School’
Season 13, episode 3 of “WCTH,” titled “Back to School,” airs Sunday, Jan. 18, at 8/7c, when fans can see Krakow’s images come to life.
After the Goldie National Park wildlife destroyed Benson Hills, displacing the town’s families from their homes, the evacuated kids will now be enrolled in Elizabeth’s class. In an Instagram video teaser shared by Hallmark Channel, Kevin McGarry’s Nathan Grant gives Elizabeth a pep talk about how to uplift her new students.
One very special student from Benson Hills is Gwendolyn, whose dad is in the hospital because of injuries sustained from the wildfire. While she’ll be cared for by Rosemary and Leland Coulter, the young girl is desperately anxious as she waits to see her dad again.
In an interview with Parade, Leland’s Kavan Smith explained how becoming Gwendolyn’s foster dad and getting to know Alex MacIsaac, who plays Gwendolyn, was his “favorite” part of season 13. “Rosemary and Lee bring in a foster kid, and being a foster father is an extremely big story arc for Lee this season,” he added, going on to note that Leland was “depressed” before the wildfire forced him into his higher purpose.
