With a groundbreaking premiere that left Hearties on the edge of their seats, wondering what happened after a wildfire broke out at Goldie National Park, here’s everything to know about what came next.

HallmarkThe men of Hope Valley venture off to Goldie National Park to rescue the children who have been trapped by the wildfire. In small groups, the kids are led out of the danger by the heroic figures of the tight-knit town.
When Allie makes her return to Hope Valley, Elizabeth couldn’t believe her eyes — thankful that Nathan’s daughter was unharmed. As the rest of the kids return via horseback, the town rejoices in their safety.
Although the children remained OK, an immediate evacuation was ordered for all of Hope Valley. While Rosemary led the charge, the wind continued to carry the fire east — creating hope that the evacuation would not be necessary. But with the change in direction, others in Benson Hills were placed in immediate danger, resulting in Rosemary sending a warning through the radio.
With Hope Valley turning into the safe haven for evacuees of surrounding towns, Elizabeth and the ladies help to prepare warm blankets, fresh meals and a safe space for their new arrivals. But, with many adults from other towns still in the crossfire, their children who had been guided to Hope Valley were left wondering when — and if — they’d be back.
HallmarkWhile Hope Valley gathered together as the chaos on the horizon persisted, Constable Garret was forced to make his first arrest when Bill was attacked over a container of goods. Fortunately, Bill was OK after getting the wind knocked out of him. However, a young girl named Gwendolyn wasn’t…
Gwendolyn’s father remained deep in the wildfire, leaving her orphaned in Hope Valley. With every passing moment, she anxiously waited for his return. Elizabeth and Rosemary made sure to keep her busy, but the thought of her dad stuck in danger continued to haunt her.
Although the townies were busy caring for others, Allie made sure to congratulate Constable Garret for making his first arrest — not without a little flirtation, of course — something the romantic duo were called out for as Allie doted over her crush.
When Nathan returns from the rescue mission in Benson Hills, he meets Gwendolyn, who asks where her father was. Nathan was forced to give her the uncertain news of his hospitalization, leading Gwendolyn to have to remain in Hope Valley for several weeks until his injuries cleared up.
Nathan brought back even more awful news, alerting residents of Benson Hills that most of their homes had been destroyed. While there wouldn’t be a place to go back to, everyone had been accounted for — making the damage of the fire seem less horrific.
With the safe return of Nathan, Elizabeth was elated and made sure to keep him close.
As the episode came to an end, Elizabeth began to write a letter, reflecting on Little Jack’s diabetes diagnosis. She spoke of how it is always possible to rise through the ashes even in the wake of unanticipated change.
While Elizabeth set the tone for her own narrative, the men of Hope Valley gathered to discuss how Goldie National Park went up in flames the night before it was set to open. With a strong inclination of the fire being set intentionally, Leland couldn’t help but place blame on A.J. McGinty, saying he acted suspiciously before the fire was set ablaze.
With the safe rescue of everyone in danger and the park forever changed, Hope Valley will be left to pick up the pieces.
