Live Recap of ‘WCTH’ Season 13, Episode 8

Rosemary proposes to Leland an idea that will make her feel alive again — something that will be unforgettable. With Leland’s approval, Rosemary turns to Elizabeth to write a script for a play. With a slim budget, Rosemary’s ideal playwright will be hard to portray — but with her creativity, she has hope that her vision will come to life.

Nathan meets with Bill and Christopher’s dad, Henry, to go over where he might be located. Bill suggests that a fresh set of eyes on the search is a good idea, while Nathan issues a new alert to find him.

Rosemary asks Elizabeth to play the lead in her play after the role mimics who she is, telling her that she won’t take “no” as an answer. Rosemary suggests that Nathan play the role opposite Elizabeth as her love interest.

Georgie tells Edie she has a work offer for her out of town, but Edie tells her that her life is in Hope Valley now.

When Elizabeth tells Nathan that Rosemary wants him to play her love interest in her play, he initially declines until Elizabeth tells him that she doesn’t want to kiss anyone but him.

Nathan, Bill and Georgie connect the dots about the wildfire investigation, figuring out that Christopher’s boss asked him to get rid of the transformer as a corporate defrauding cover-up. With Georgie’s help as a forensic investigator, they’ll continue to piece the facts together before coming to their conclusion.

Fernando sees Edie with Dr. Faith and Mei during a lunch outing. During which, he gives the three of them a yellow flower, leaving the ladies to ask Edie if Lucas has anything to worry about. Although Edie tells them that’s just how Fernando is, the ladies aren’t sure if he realizes she isn’t interested.

When Georgie shares new details of the defrauding cover-up, Nathan and Bill ask her if she’s willing to go undercover in an espionage operation, posing as a client of the man who drew up the map for Pioneer Electric, which detailed where to bury and burn the transformer.

Georgie meets with the mapmaker. After overhearing how much he charges for each map, Nathan approaches their table and confronts him about the receipts he has that prove he was paid much more by Pioneer Electric. After denying Nathan’s claim, the man quickly makes his exit.

Bill and Georgie find a way to tap the phone line in order to hear if the mapmaker calls Pioneer Electric— which he does, telling the company, “They’re on to us!”

Edie tells Fernando that she isn’t interested despite his attempt to interject his feelings about their love still being alive. When Edie kisses him on the cheek as a final “goodbye” to what was, Lucas turns the corner, seeing their loving interaction.

Rosemary begins filming her black and white screenplay in the middle of Hope Valley. Nathan, however, struggles as a first-time actor, leaving Rosemary to cut the scene several times. Rosemary pretends there’s something wrong with the camera so she can buy time to find new actors to replace Elizabeth and Nathan.

Fernando makes his way to center stage, leaving Rosemary and the crowd speechless with his talents.

Edie tracks down Lucas without knowing he saw her tender moment with Fernando. He jumps to the conclusion that she is still in love with Fernando, telling her that he’s been through a distrustful relationship before and doesn’t want to continue their romance. When he tells Edie he needs time, she tells him she understands and walks away with a broken heart.

Bill tells Nathan that the phone conversation between the mapmaker and Pioneer Electric was recorded, so they won’t be able to use the transcript in court.

Molly walks in on Florence and a man having a bite to eat. Assuming that she is cheating on her husband, Ned, Molly quickly calls her out. To her surprise, the man with Florence is actually Ned in a black wig. Molly apologizes for thinking she was being unfaithful before telling them that she passed her exam to become a nurse.

Mike gives Lucas a pep talk to fight for his love for Edie, but she leaves town before he can get to her and share that he does want to continue their romantic relationship.

  1. I would like to see Lucas & Elizabeth back together again. He spends alot of time in Hope Valley & he lives there. He can take care of Elizabeth & LJ in the custom she was accustomed to in Hamilton.
