Ben Rosenbaum knows how to make the best of it!

In new behind-the-scenes photos shared to Rosenbaum’s Instagram, he gave fans a glimpse at the medical dilemma his character faced on “When Calls the Heart.”

The actor, who takes on the role of Mike Hickam in the hit Hallmark show, suffered from a bee sting during season 13, episode 7, “In a Jam,” which aired on Sunday, Feb. 15.

Ben Rosenbaum Has Fun With His ‘WCTH’ Medical Dilemma

In the show, Rosenbaum and his on-screen wife, Mei Hickam, played by Amanda Wong, joined their neighbors of Hope Valley to make 500 jars of jam in under 24 hours. During which, his character’s face and lips began to swell from an allergic reaction to the bee sting.

In the photos he shared on social media, Rosenbaum showed himself getting his special effects makeup applied before filming the episode. Having enjoyed the lip prosthetic and red rashes on his face, Rosenbaum snapped several images with his “WCTH” co-stars Natasha Burnett (Minnie Canfield), Viv Leacock (Joseph Canfield), James Drew Dean (Christopher Hughes), as well as his on-screen wife.

“Still waiting for my super powers to kick in after I was stung by that radioactive bumble bee… Swipe to see 💄👩‍🎨 extraordinaire @mirrormirroratelier & @sarah_buffitt performing the 🐝 inspired makeover,” Rosenbaum captioned his 8-photo carousel.

Hearties found the images hysterical, with many fans taking to the actor’s comments to agree that he nailed the scene in which his face swelled up.

“This scene was hilarious! 😂,” wrote one.

“Sorry Ben, but my husband and I were in hysterics at ‘Mike’s’ mishap! 😂,” said another.

“Reminds me of Will Smith in the movie hitch.. this actually made me laugh out loud really hard,” added a third.

“I laughed and laughed at this scene. Ben is so hilarious,” agreed another.

After Rosenbaum’s “WCTH” character, Mike, was stung by a bee, Mei rushed him to the infirmary to be treated by Dr. Faith Carter, who quickly helped reduce his swelling — just in time for him to reiterate his proposal to Mei about finally having kids.

Although Mei expressed hesitancy when Mike asked her about having kids together, he responded to her with hope that she’ll soon come around to the idea.

To see what happens next on “WCTH” in an episode titled “Take Two,” fans can tune into the Hallmark Channel on Sunday, Feb. 22, at 8/7c.
