‘When Calls the Heart’ Season 13 Episode 6 Spoilers & Live Recap – What Happened

Warning! Spoilers for “When Calls the Heart” season 13, episode 6, ahead.

Before tonight’s “WCTH” episode, titled “Moment of Truth,” in which the Hallmark Channel teased the return of a “familiar face” that fans hope is Melissa Gilbert’s role as Georgie McGill, here is a quick recap of last week’s episode:

After Nathan found mysterious fossils on the ground where the wildfire ignited, he finally has evidence to prove that Cooper and Toby might not have mistakenly started it. By the end of the episode, Christopher Hughes leaves Hope Valley in a hurry after his quick return. When he’s leaving, his dad, Henry Gowen, finds the fossils tucked under his belongings in his vehicle. Although his dad is the only person at that point to know of his possible involvement, tonight’s “Moment of Truth” episode will hopefully shed more light on what really happened. Here’s everything to know about season 13, episode 6:

Live Recap of ‘WCTH’ Season 13, Episode 6

Elizabeth Thornton & Constable Nathan

Elizabeth and Nathan begin the episode with some alone time as they ride a horse in the fields, leading Nathan to open up about his obsession with not being able to close the wildfire investigation.

Henry Gowen seeks advice from Cooper’s dad, asking him what he would do if he knew someone did something purposefully unforgivable after his son, Christopher, had mysterious evidence on him from the scene of the wildfire in the previous episode.

As Nathan and Bill discuss the investigation, a new Mountie (Elmore Briggs) arrives with Georgie and a polygraph test to get to the bottom of who caused the fire.

Doctor Carter arrives at Leland and Rosemary’s home to inform Gwendolyn that her dad is not at risk of an infection anymore, and she is able to see him as soon as she can. But when Leland talks to her about going to visit, she breaks down in tears, telling him she can’t bring herself to do so.

The Polygraph Test

Oliver is joined by Georgie, Nathan, Bill and Mountie Briggs to be the first person hooked up to the polygraph test. All of his answers read as the truth, leading Nathan to test his honesty even further by kneeling down and making it seem like he’s about to ask him about his daughter, Allie. He then asks Oliver about what he had for breakfast, but the Mountie still broke quite a sweat.

Henry sits down with Christopher and presents him with the fossils he found in the trunk of his vehicle, telling him it’s his “moment of truth” to come forward about what he might have done. Christopher tells him it’s too late to be honest, but his dad presses him to do so for the sake of Cooper and Toby.

Leland and Gwendolyn go fishing, where she asks him why he has to do relaxing activities if he didn’t actually suffer a heart attack. Gwendolyn then opens up about why she doesn’t want to visit her dad at the hospital, explaining that when her mom died at the hospital, it made her afraid to ever go back.

Leland tells Rosemary that he wants to spend more time with his daughter, Goldie. Rosemary approves, believing that it will help his health improve.

Bill, Georgie, Nathan and Elizabeth have dinner together, where Bill calls Nathan’s bluff about saying Elizabeth’s lemon curd dessert is the best. The group then goes to see Mountie Briggs for Nathan to take the polygraph test, leading him to tell Elizabeth how much he loves her — which shows up as the truth.

The Truth Comes Out

Cooper & TobyHallmark
Cooper & Toby

Lucas has an awkward moment with Edie when he introduces his friend Fernando to her, but it appears that she already knows him. Edie then tells Lucas that she was previously engaged to Fernando before calling off their wedding plans.

Christopher finally comes clean to Nathan and Bill about being the one to have started the wildfire after he tried to destroy a transformer a couple of miles away from where the fire broke out. With tears in his eyes, Christopher tells them that he never would have come clean had his dad not guided him to do so.

Nathan and Bill go to tell Cooper and Toby that they weren’t the ones to have started the wildfire, leading their families to rejoice in the good news.

Rosemary and Elizabeth have some girl time to talk over how Nathan reacted during the polygraph test, where he sputtered his feelings about her. Rosemary reassures her that he was nervous and shouldn’t overthink the jittery moment.

Before the episode comes to an end, Nathan apologizes to Elizabeth for reacting oddly about his feelings for her during the polygraph test. He brings her hand to his heart, telling her that his truth is the love he has for her.
