Jamie-Lynn Sigler Shares Update on Christina Applegate’s MS Battle While Navigating Her Own Health Journey

Jamie-Lynn Sigler is offering a hopeful update on her friend Christina Applegate as the two continue to navigate their shared journey with multiple sclerosis.

While appearing on “Good Morning America” on May 4, Sigler opened up while promoting her new memoir, and she also spoke candidly about Applegate’s health.

“Christina has shared openly about having health issues,” she said. “We’re in contact, so she’s doing a lot better.” She added, “She’s a tough lady.”

Christina Applegate Reassures Fans After Health Concerns

Sigler’s update comes shortly after Applegate addressed concerns from fans following reports of a recent hospitalization.

“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well-wishes. Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick, and I’m getting stronger and better every day,” the “Married… with Children” star wrote in an April Instagram post. “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

She shared the statement with a quiet image of a coffee mug resting beside her memoir, “You with the Sad Eyes,” set against a calm outdoor backdrop.

A Friendship That Is Based On Honesty and Shared Strength

Sigler and Applegate’s friendship has deepened over time, shaped by their shared experiences with MS and a commitment to openness.

Together, they launched the podcast “MeSsy,” creating a space to speak candidly about their health, their lives, and the challenges they continue to navigate.

“With Christina’s help, it was just like, ‘Say what’s going on with you. There’s nothing to be shameful about.’ That girl in 2016 who told people she had MS is not that girl that’s here now. I’m really no longer hiding anything anymore,” Sigler shared with People in an exclusive interview in March 2024.

For Applegate, that connection has been a steady source of strength.

“If I didn’t have her, I wouldn’t be able to do this life thing,” she said of Sigler.

What Has Christina Applegate Said About Living With MS

Applegate has been candid about the realities of living with multiple sclerosis, sharing both the physical and emotional toll it can take.

“My symptoms are worse in the morning, like crazy-town bad. The pain, the numbness, and the balance. It’s horrible,” she said on her podcast, as reported by Today.

“So, of course, first thing in the morning, I’m real pissed off about it all. But I don’t want to be like this always.”

She also spoke about what keeps her moving forward.

“And I know I won’t, because I have my hero here,” she said, referring to Sigler in an interview with People. “I know I’ll live a long enough life … to experience my kid and the things she’s going to do. And I need to be here, so I’ve got to fight. I got to fight.”

Together, Sigler and Applegate have created a space for openness, using their voices to support others facing similar challenges.

Their friendship, shaped by shared experiences and mutual strength, continues to offer both comfort and encouragement.

For both women, the journey is ongoing. But through connection, honesty, and hope, they are finding ways to move forward, one day at a time.
