The Instagram post in question is one that Holmes posted five days ago. It shows her embracing Jackson from behind as they pose for the cameras. In the caption, she wrote, “We are so thrilled to be a part of the Tribeca Film Festival this June with our film Happy Hours. So many beautiful people worked on this project. Fans flooded the comment section with reactions. “Please get married in real life and heal our millenial hearts,” a comment reads. “Joey and Pacey forever,” another fan wrote, referring to the pair by their “Dawson’s Creek” characters.
Other reactions include, “This is the marriage that should have happened in real life,” and “Could you be any more gorgeous together.” There were also comments about them as a couple that Holmes “liked,” People reports. These comments include “They should be a couple,” and if the post was “a hard launch.”
Now, fans are curious about whether her actions were in agreement, and Holmes and Jackson do have more than a professional history, having dated between 1998 and 1999, People reports.

“Katie wrote this beautiful story for the two of us,” Jackson said of their latest collaboration in an interview on Today in March, People reports. “There are these people in your life — she’s a lifelong friend now — and for us to be able to go back and do this again, and, honestly, for her to be able to create that space for us was kind of magical.”
What they did have in the ‘90s was beautiful, though, with Holmes commenting on the relationship and how it was her first love in a 1998 Rolling Stone interview, Cosmopolitan reports. “I’m just going to say that I met somebody last year, I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable. I feel so fortunate because he’s now one of my best friends. It’s weird, it’s almost like a Dawson-and-Joey type thing now.”
