Lisa Kudrow, 62, Looks Gorgeous in Rare Appearance With Husband and Son

Lisa Kudrow, 62, made a rare appearance with her family at the premiere for season 3 of the HBO Max sitcom “The Comeback” on Thursday, March 19.

The “Hanging Up” star looked as gorgeous as ever as she posed on the red carpet alongside her husband of 30 years, advertising executive Michel Stern, and their son Julian Stern, a University of Southern California graduate.

The star-studded premiere took place at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, the Daily Mail reported.

Ahead of the event, Kudrow spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about how thankful she is that she met her husband before her fame took off with the success of “Friends.”

“I feel like the luckiest thing that happened to me was that I met and fell in love with the man I was going to spend the rest of my life with before Friends, right before,” she shared.

Kudrow went on to explain how she and Michel were taken aback by their son’s acting abilities after he was cast in his high school play. Fortunately for Julian, his mom is the co-creator of “The Comeback” and was able to cast him in the third and final season, premiering on Sunday, March 22.

“My husband and I were boo-hoo-hooing [at Julian’s monologue in his high school play The Laramie Project], and I went, ‘Okay, he’s got something,’” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Kudrow said that her son plays the role of an AI tech expert in season 3, which will premiere 12 years after season 2 and 21 years after the debut of its first season. “He’s got talents I don’t have,” the actress praised of her only child.

While filming “The Comeback,” Kudrow and Julian would often embrace their mother-son relationship. With some production members on set not being aware they’re family, Kudrow told People that it made for some fairly awkward stares.

“I was kind of tired, and my brain was just a little fuzzy, and I’ve been looking at lines. I walked in and I saw Julian sitting on the couch with some other people, like, ‘Oh,’ and just walked over and climbed onto the couch right next to him and cuddled in,” she told People.

“And everyone just went … And he went, ‘Hi, Mom,’ and everyone was looking,” Kudrow added. “It was maybe inappropriate, just like to climb on him. I think some people didn’t know he was my son. So they were still wondering, ‘What’s happening right now?’”

Kudrow and Stern welcomed their son in 1998 after tying the knot in 1995. In a previous interview with Glamour, the actress explained how she and her husband decided not to bet on forever and instead enjoy their relationship one day at a time.

“When [Michel and I] decided to get married, we understood: We’re not promising to love each other forever, because you can’t do that, but we are promising to work on whatever problems come up,” she said. “We’re committed to our marriage working. It turns out, after you have a history, there’s such a bond, and love takes another shape. But, oh, I don’t want to jinx it — I’m superstitious!”
