Jelly Roll’s Latest Collab Rocks – and Shocks

Jelly Roll has joined forces with everyone from Post Malone to Marshmello. But his latest collab is a bit of a shocker- because it’s with a rocker!

The first-ever artist-in-residence on “American Idol” has been tapped by legendary band Bon Jovi to be a part of the re-release of their iconic “Forever” album.

According to Bon Jovi’s website, “After the release of Bon Jovi’s acclaimed 2024 album Forever, the band reimagined every song on the album with an array of some of the world’s most revered and innovative artists who are also friends of the band.”

That includes a collaboration with Jelly Roll on a new version of Bon Jovi’s “Living Proof.”

Bon Jovi Teams Up With Jelly Roll for ‘Living Proof’ Reboot

“Living Proof” is a brand new song off of Bon Jovi’s 2024.

It’s lyrics speak of redemption: “This family tree’s got nothing left to prove now
Me and you We’re the living proof” much like many of Jelly Roll’s hits.

According to Billboard, Jon Bon Jovi says the band decided to reimagine the album after vocal chord surgery kept him from touring to promote the original.

“This album is more than just a collection of collaborations, it is an album borne out of necessity. My vocal cord surgery and subsequent rehab was a well-documented journey that played out while releasing Forever in June 2024,” BonJovi said in a statement.

“Without the ability to tour or promote an album we were all very proud of, I decided to call on some friends to help me in my time of need. All are great singers, artists, and also just great people. The result is an album with a new viewpoint and new spirit — a collaboration album that proves we all get by in this world with a little help from our friends.  I feel tremendous joy and gratitude releasing this album and I think it shows in the music.  I can say with certainty that there is always something bigger than ME, and that’s WE.”

‘Forever’ Pairs Big Names with Legendary Band

Jelly Roll is in good company in his Bon Jovi collab.

Other artists appearing on the album include ACM Entertainer of the Year Lainey Wilson. She joins the band on “I Wrote You a Song.” Avril Lavigne joins Bon Jovi on “Living in Paradise.”

Jason Isbell sings “Waves” with the band. And The War & Treaty reimagines “The People’s House” alongside Bon Jovi.

Two songs from “Forever,” which drops October 24, are already out.

The remix has one new song, “Red, White and Jersey.” That and Bon Jovi’s duet with the Boss, Bruce Springsteen, on “Hollow Man” were recently released.

In an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Jon Bon Jovi talked about his deep bond with fellow artist and New Jersey native, Bruce Springsteen.

“Nowadays, we go out of our way to spend time together. The story that’s gone around is we take these drives. No radio, no phones, nobody, we’ll go for 100 miles… The two of us can lock the door and go for a ride and talk… For the first five, six, or seven times I’d say, ‘God, I wish a cop would pull us over, this would be a great shot.’”
