Based on my predictions from earlier in the day, I clearly thought it would be Chris and Daniel being eliminated. It felt like they were leaving Brooks on that stage to get more votes for him next week.
However, that was not the case. The last person named safe for the week was Chris Tungseth, which meant that Brooks and Daniel were eliminated from the competition. You could feel the shock in the room, as many thought that Brooks was a frontrunner this season.
His unique voice and his story made everyone think he would be the winner. Instead, he leaves just two weeks shy of being in the finale.
Fans React to Shocking Elimination
Many fans hopped on social media after Ryan delivered the shocking results. Not to diminish Daniel and all he did this season, the main focus has been on Brooks. He seemed like the kind of contestant that everyone was rooting for and would vote for.
The love for Brooks was shared openly, with one person writing, “To me, Brooks IS the show! It is going to be so sad now without him in it. I thought he was winning this! I’m devastated.”

I was shocked Daniel was not in the final five. For me, it was always between Jordan and Daniel, the two most outstanding singers in the competition. I am usually disappointed when results are based solely on audience voting. Daniel is fantastic. I hope he will be offered more opportunities in the entertainment world that fit with who he is.
