We had a special night on “American Idol” season 24 tonight, especially since we got to see Brooks take the stage two times. There is something special about him and his unique voice. Now, he’s taking on Taylor Swift Night on ABC tonight. The Top 7 on “American Idol” 2026 were not only taking on hit songs from Taylor Swift, but they also took on hit songs from iconic artists from California. Taylor Swift Song Performance
He hard-launched his relationship with Rae last week. Now he’s singing “Love Story” this week? Seems about right! I feel like Brooks has certain songs that he sounds great on. He has such a unique voice, but I am not sure if this one was it or not. His nerves are always a concern, but he let loose a little more at the end.
For the judges, Luke said he loved hearing his interpretation of that. Force himself to give more energy. He is having a crazy week. He’s got silk shirts on now. Lionel said he is enjoying that he is having a great time. His voice is so unique. The storyteller part of your voice is so fitting for that song. Grab that mic sometimes and give me attitude. Carrie said he has such a special gift. People just love you. You just have to breathe. You were like half a second ahead of the music. Just know you belong here, and just let it come out of you. Nikki said she loves him. You are such a star. We are getting to see, in real time, the performer you are. I just want to see you let go. You have everything to be a star, and I can’t wait for you to unleash.
California Song Performance on ‘American Idol’
He said he’s never smiled as much as he has since being in California. Brooks is having a blast and will be singing “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5, as he’s all about the love tonight. He mentions Rae and being his girlfriend, so he is hoping she is feeling loved. He is sitting on a bench for this one, and I feel it makes him more comfortable. I think he does a great job, and his voice works well with this one.
For the judges, Luke said that was the perfect song choice to fit his voice. There was none of those timing issues. It was so Brooks. Lionel said ditto, ditto, ditto. The perfect song for him, and he did such a good job. Carrie said his voice is so magical and carried it through the entire song. Nikki said it was so easy to watch him, and you can tell he’s in love. You can see it.
