Last Time on ‘American Idol’
Last week on “American Idol” season 24, the Top 9 took on Disney Night. After being mentored by Jennifer Hudson, the contestants took to the stage to perform some classic Disney songs. Besides mentoring the contestants, Hudson also served as a guest judge for the week.
After watching some pretty amazing performances, it was time for the live voting results. The Top 9 became the Top 7 when Ryan Searcrest took the stage and delivered the results. It was time to say goodbye to both Kyndal Inskeep and Lucas Leon.
Top 7 Will Perform Two Songs
For the first time this season, the remaining singers will take the stage two times to perform during the live shows.
Of course, during last week’s episode, Ryan announced the Top 7 would be taking on Taylor Swift’s songbook. This will be the first time that “American Idol” has taken on Taylor Swift’s songbook, so it’s definitely going to be a new “era” of the show.
From there, the singers will be taking the stage for a second performance. For this second performance, the Top 7 will be saluting California’s biggest artists.
Yes, after celebrating Taylor Swift’s chart-topping hits, the finalists will also perform songs from California’s biggest artists. This could be an interesting theme, with Billie Eilish and Olivia Rodrigo coming to mind.
What Else To Know for Taylor Swift Night on ‘American Idol’
The first thing to know for tonight is that two more singers will be eliminated. After all the fun of Taylor Swift Night comes to an end, Ryan will deliver the live voting results again, and yes, another two singers will be sent home. We made our predictions earlier on who we think it might be.
In addition to the Top 7 performing Taylor Swift songs and songs from California’s biggest artists, we will have another performance. “American Idol” judge Luke Bryan will take the stage to perform.
We will also have another person behind the judges’ table this week. Since it’s Taylor Swift Night, fans are hoping to see Taylor in the building, right? That won’t be the case, but one of her biggest fans will be there. Comedian Nikki Glaser will be joining Carrie, Lionel, and Luke at the judges’ table.
