We had a special night on “American Idol” season 24 tonight on ABC. In addition to the duet performances with past contestants, we had a crossover with “Dancing With the Stars.” Some of the “DWTS” pro dancers were in attendance tonight as the Top 5 on “American Idol” 2026 performed. Hannah Harper was one of those Top 5 singers, and she performed for the first time on “American Idol” 2026 tonight. Check out the Hannah Harper performance video from tonight below in our “American Idol” spoilers.
DWTS Crossover Performance
Hannah told Randy Jackson she is in it to win it. She felt she was going to get ripped to shreds by him. She is singing “Fever” by Peggy Lee. Randy did not like this idea at all. He thinks this song could trip her up, but she just needs to let her heart get into it. For the DWTS pros, it’s Rylee Arnold and Jan Ravnik performing. This is definitely a different style for Hannah, but she makes it work. Her voice sounds great on it, but she was out there having fun with it, too. Snapping and seemed more relaxed.
For the judges, Luke said he thought it was incredible. It was so uniquely different for her. Lionel said that was exactly what was needed. She surprised us. Paula said there is nobody who sounds like her in the competition. It’s beautiful to see how America has become invested in her. Carrie said she is proud of her. She is growing more and more in the competition.
Last Week’s Taylor Swift Performance
For her Taylor Swift performance, she sang “Mean.” This one I was excited to hear, as this seems like a music genre perfect for Hannah. She is like a young Taylor and has that country voice. She does a good job singing it. It’s a good rendition of the song.
For the judges, Nikki said she loves that she chose this song. She loved the banjo and loved what she did with the song, and she sounded gorgeous. Luke said she is killing it every week. She is being authentically you. The banjo is another great look for her. Great song choice, and she had me until the end. Lionel said this is how you do it. She is true to herself. There is no gimmick. You did a fabulous job. Carrie said she loved everything about this performance. From the hair to the wardrobe to the banjo. It all sounded good on this song, and she made a really good choice.
Last Week’s California Song Performance on ‘American Idol’
For her second performance last week, she sang “That’s the Way Love Goes” by Merle Haggard. I feel like you could feel that she was singing this one to her husband. She had some moments where she was looking at him. Hannah definitely has a strong country voice, and it shone on this one. She seemed to be a little more comfortable up there on this one.
For the judges, Lionel said that it was absolutely amazing. She is looking like a star and sounding like a star. Carrie said promise me, you are going to make a proper version of that song. It was a great song choice. It sounded like you, and it was just wonderful. Nikki said it felt like a lullaby and a warm blanket. Lukle said if he wants to, she is going to be doing this singing thing for a long time. She is just a star, so welcome.
