Taylor Kinney may be a Hollywood star; however, when fans think of him, they likely also think about Chicago.
“If anyone has big Chicago energy, it’s Taylor Kinney. Since 2012, the actor has starred as Lieutenant Kelly Severide on Chicago Fire (with occasional appearances on Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med), so it’s no surprise that he has collected some real estate in the Windy City,” according to Parade.
Now, the celeb has decided to rent out one of his enviable Chicago area homes.
Kinney’s Loft Has A Lot to Offer Its Residents
Kinney bought his condo for $1.225 million in 2017 and has now “placed his two-bedroom, 3,380-square-foot exposed brick and timber loft in the West Loop up for rent for $20,000 a month,” the Chicago Tribune noted.
“Located on the fourth floor of a 19th-century warehouse building with a 24-hour doorman, the unit is entirely on one level and has 2-1/2 bathrooms, exposed 17-foot timber ceilings, large commercial-grade windows, exposed timber columns, a restored copper door, a foyer with polished concrete doors, a 45-degree ceiling with eight skylights and seven-inch wide-plank, quartersawn white oak hardwood floors throughout in a Jacobean finish,” per the Tribune.
Beyond that, the Tribune explains that “the recently painted loft” also “include[s] five-inch baseboards, a gas ventless fireplace in the living area, floor-to-ceiling draperies and a primary bedroom with a walk-in closet with built-ins, a massive solid wood sliding panel door and a primary bathroom with a dual vanity, rectangular vessel sinks, black plumbing fixtures, gold vertical wall sconces, heated floors and a steam shower with an infinity drain.”
Finally, the Tribune points out that fact that “[t]he unit’s kitchen has a Sub-Zero wine refrigerator, a Miele dishwasher, a La Cornue five-burner range, a La Cornue vented hood, 1.25-inch straight-edge statuary marble counters, a Viking refrigerator, a wet bar, a Franke sink, and a large island with a six-inch Hawaiian Koa wood counter and stainless steel farm sink.”
Kinney Lives in Another Home in Chicago
GettyWhile Kinney is renting his Chicago loft, that doesn’t mean he’s leaving the city. That’s because the star owns another abode in the area.
Kinney “has traded up, paying $2.75 million in March to buy a three-bedroom, 2,750-square-foot condominium on the 45th floor of a New East Side tower from Duracell CEO Thom Lachman and his wife, Rhonda,” the Chicago Tribune reported in September 2022.
“Recently renovated through a gut rehab, Kinney’s new 45th-floor unit is in a building that was constructed in 2007,” per the Tribune. “It has three bathrooms, an open floor plan, solid walnut floors, quartz and marble countertops, Grabill high-gloss cabinets, handmade hardwood built-ins and unobstructed views of Millennium Park, Monroe Harbor and the Chicago skyline.”
