Back in 2004, Shannen Doherty bought herself a stunning home in Malibu for $2.56 million. A dwelling that she loved and lived in for decades, the property was put on the market a year after the star’s passing in 2024.
Now, two years after the world lost the actress, her mansion has found a buyer.
Shannen’s Home Was Selling for $8.25 Million
GettyAlthough Doherty’s home now looks to be sold, it took a bit of time to find a new owner.
“Doherty’s Malibu dwelling … was first put on the market by her longtime friend, Compass real estate agent Chris Cortazzo, just over one year after she died, originally listing for $9.5 million,” according to Realtor.com. “That price was lowered to $9.45 million just days later, however.”
“In September 2025, a further $700,000 was cut from the ask, bringing the price down to $8.75 million,” per Realtor.com, “before the property was taken off the market altogether.”
Now, the “property has found a buyer — just two months after being relisted with a steep price cut,” Realtor.com notes. Indeed, after being taken off the market, it was “then relisted March 2 with a newly discounted price of $8.25 million.”
“And, apparently, the price drop attracted a buyer,” Realtor.com explains while “exclusively reveal[ing] that the home is in the contingency phase, meaning that an offer has been accepted; however, it depends on certain conditions being met. It is unclear what those conditions are or how much the offer was.”
The Star Considered the Home Her ‘Sanctuary’
GettyWhen Doherty wasn’t spending time in the show business spotlight, she was likely enjoying the peacefulness of her abode in Malibu.
“When the property first hit the market, Cortazzo — who met Doherty in the 1990s after she went to view one of his listings and was later named the executor of her estate — opened up to the Wall Street Journal [WSJ] about their friendship, and how the actress first fell in love with the property, noting that she was most drawn to the privacy offered at the elegant estate,” Realtor.com mentions.
“When you’re a notable figure, your home becomes your sanctuary,” he explained to the WSJ. He also noted that Doherty liked to host her “very close, intimate circle of friends” at the home.
