Susan Boyle, 65, is embracing more than one new change in her life. The singer and “Britain’s Got Talent” alum has not only gone through a stunning makeover that saw her go from brunette to blonde, she’s also moved into a new house after spending over 60 years in her childhood home.
Susan Posed In Her New Home for a 65th Birthday Post
Boyle took to Instagram on Thursday, April 2, and shared a photo of herself in her lovely abode. Along with a large floating birthday balloon and flowers on the fireplace mantel, a card can be seen that says, “New Home.”
“Thank you all so much for your lovely birthday wishes, cards and gifts. I’ve felt so spoiled and very grateful for all your kindness.💕,” Boyle wrote in the caption of her post. “I’m truly touched by all the love you’ve sent my way, it means more to me than I can say.”
“I’m so excited for the year ahead and everything that’s to come. I can’t wait to share it all with you. 💫,” she continued her message, before adding, “With love, Susan x”
The Daily Mail noted that in the post, Boyle “celebrates moving into her glam new home,” while also “show[ing] off her freshly dyed blonde locks” and “wearing a pink-checked shirt and blue jeans.”
Boyle Has Been ‘Emotional’ About Leaving Her Childhood Home
While Boyle has made a big move to her new home, it turns out that it’s not that far from her old residence. The star has “flitted 20 miles to Larbert, near Falkirk, where her [personal assistant] Geraldine Easton, 41, lives,” according to The Scottish Sun.
A friend talked to the Sun about Boyle’s childhood home — which she “lived in for over 60 years,” per Hello! — saying, “Susan has lived in that house all her life and is a proud Blackburn woman. This has been a real emotional wrench for her. She always spoke about feeling a strong bond to her parents by remaining there.”
“Leaving has been really hard for her and she’s been pretty upset,” the friend continued. However, they also noted, “Before, Geraldine used to travel 30 minutes each day to take Susan out for lunch and help with everyday life including work stuff. So now it’s just a lot more convenient. Susan has her two cats with her, which has helped, as well as pictures of her mum and dad.”
