REPORT: Police Photos Showed Multiple Substances at Anne Burrell’s Death Scene

People said the photos they obtained from the NYPD, which the outlet did not publish, show “dozens of pills” in a dish near a toilet bowl, and the common OTC drugs Advil, Zyrtec, and Motrin. A ValuMeds brand antihistamine was also seen lying sideways on the bathroom floor, per the report.

People says the photos also show cigarette butts and a lighter on the floor. In July 2025, TMZ reported Burrell’s cause of death was  “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine,” according to the NYC Office of Chief Medical Examiner.

In February, the NYPD confirmed a “suicidal note” was discovered in the main bedroom of Burrell’s home, along with “suicidal” journal entries. The police also noted Burrell’s husband told them the Food Network star had never “talked about” suicide or shown “any signs she would do something like this.”

Unpublished Video Shows Anne Burrell’s Final Elevator Ride

People says they obtained videos, which, like the photos, they did not publish, from the NYPD that captured Anne Burrell’s final walk into her apartment building. Per the report, the videos show Burrell and her husband arriving home and walking through the exterior gate of their Brooklyn apartment complex.

The report says Burrell is seen in once clip entering the lobby of the building and leaning against a wall while waiting for the elevator.

People says a video from Burrell’s final elevator ride shows her leaning back against the wall and crossing her hands. The outlet described the rest of the scene by saying, “She turns her head away from Stuart while it appears he is talking. She continues to stare at the elevator wall, while he is gesturing toward her. She then looks like she’s about to say something but stops herself.”

Burrell was bubby and cheerful in the segment, beginning the tour by joking, “Jenna and Hoda! Hi! I wasn’t expecting you guys till next week!” before telling the hosts, “Welcome to my world of color!”
