Alison Hammond Said She Shrunk Down to a Size 20 Without Meds

The Birmingham, U.K. native said rumors she used weight loss drugs are false. Instead, exercise became a huge part of her routine, with the television star employing three different personal trainers. She says she focused on Pilates, circuit training, strength training, and boxing.

Now a size 20, Hammond says she’s “still overweight,” but congratulated herself for her major progress and improvements to her health. “I’m by far not at my ideal weight for my height. But the main thing is my diabetes is now in the optimum range.”

She added that she doesn’t feel any pressure to keep shrinking, saying, “I like being bigger than everyone! I don’t want to take up less space in the world.

In response to rumors that she used weight loss drugs, Hammond said she finds the popular method “frightening” and doesn’t plan to partake.


Alison Hammond Says She Came Back from the Brink of Diabetes

In the interview, Hammond explained her primary motivation for transforming her body was her health, not other people’s expectations. “I literally needed to be able to walk up the stairs,” she said. The baker also said before making the change, she was at risk of serious health issues. “I was one point away from being diabetic, and my mom was diabetic, so I’d seen what a struggle it was.”

The mom of one also said her weight loss has dramatically improved her energy levels. “The only thing I’ve noticed since becoming smaller is that I can take on more work. I don’t get as tired. My mental health’s better. I’m more nimble; I feel younger. But my career took off when I was a big girl, and my career is still great now that I’m smaller, so I think I’m accepted for who I am,” she reflected.
