The “Global Gauntlet” continues on “MasterChef” tonight. The 17 home cooks are in place, representing the four territories (Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe, and the Americas) this season. The fight to be named the winner of “MasterChef” Season 16 continues tonight.
For tonight, the home cooks must step up and prove that they can take their country’s game-time cravings to the next level. They’ll have to channel family, culture, and pride in tonight’s challenge. Week 8 Begins
We start in the MasterChef Kitchen, as they have transformed it into a backyard barbecue. The home cooks will be cooking dishes they would make for a FIFA World Cup watch party. We will share updates as tonight’s episode airs, so keep refreshing the page for the latest results!
8:10 p.m. – For tonight’s challenge, they have to create an elevated dish for a FIFA World Cup watch party. They have 60 minutes to create the dish, but halfway through, Dave, who won last week, gets to issue a red card. He can bench any home cook, and they will stop cooking.
8:18 p.m. – The home cooks are working on their dishes. We see Rita from Africa struggling. Others are also. We made it to the halfway point, and now Dave is deciding who to give the red card to.
8:29 p.m. – Dave decides to give the red card to Rita, his own teammate. He saw she was struggling, and now she is safe for the week. The time runs out, and the judges will be going around to check out the dishes soon.
Results on ‘MasterChef: Global Gauntlet’
8:41 p.m. – After taking a closer look at all of the dishes, the top dishes for each territory come from Jaime (Asia-Pacific), Julia (Europe), Heidi (Africa), and Tkaiya (The Americas). The judges taste each dish and give their feedback. The judges discuss, and the winning dish tonight is from Jaime.
8:50 p.m. – For winning, she gets immunity for next week and also won a $2,500 gift card from Home Depot, where her dad used to work. Also, Team Asia-Pacific is safe tonight from elimination, and they still have all five of their home cooks remaining.
Now time for the least favorite dishes of the night. Those dishes belong to Nico (Europe), Peter (Africa), and Maria (The Americas). The judges taste and give feedback on every dish. Peter never would have been in the bottom, but for the technicality for Team Africa, so it’s between Nico and Maria. After discussions, the home cook eliminated tonight is Nico.
