Auditions Day 2 Begins

The judges are in place, and we have another night of auditions on “MasterChef: Global Gauntlet” tonight. For tonight, there will be five more aprons to hand out. This time it will be for the Asia-Pacific region, which also includes Australia.

The amateur chefs will have 45 minutes to cook their signature dishes. The judges want restaurant-quality dishes. These amateur chefs will need three yes votes to get the apron.

First Set of Amateur Chefs

Tiffany and Joe head out to the kitchen to check on the contestants. One contestant is representing Australia, and cooking kangaroo. One contestant is representing India, but thinks the desserts are too sweet. She wants to put her own twist on the desserts. She is also a dancer, which gets Joe and Tiffany out there doing some poses.

The first two contestants are done, so time for the judges to taste their dishes:

  • Laurence – He is representing Australia. Gordon said it smells delicious. Tiffany said visually, it looks rustic. It does look rushed. Gordon said the kangaroo is overcooked and dry. Because of that, it’s a no from him.
  • Aishu – She is representing India. Aishu is trying to get her cake out of the pan with only one minute left, but it’s stuck! She got the cake out, but it stuck to the bottom of the pan, and it fell apart. She definitely tried to fix it and make it look presentable. For the judging, Gordon said it smells delicious, but it looks like she had insufficient greasing of the mold. Gordon said it tastes better than it looks. It’s moist and delicious. Tiffany said she wanted more salt to balance the cake. Joe said that with the talent she has, she could be a real asset, so he votes yes. Tiffany is also a yes. Gordon is excited to see her cook savory, so he says yes, and Aishu gets an apron.

The Next Chefs Are On the Clock

Time for the next set of contestants to cook for the judges. Chef Ramsay heads to the kitchen to meet these new chefs. He gives them some tips before they bring the dishes to the judges for tasting. The time runs out, and time for tasting on “MasterChef” season 16:

  • Foo – He is representing Vietnam. He tells a beautiful story about his mother, whose recipe he used for these egg rolls. Gordon said that to the naked eye, they look simple and pedestrian. Joe said it tastes nothing like a spring roll he has had in a restaurant. He said it tastes of history, culture, and family. It’s 100% yes for him. Tiffany said it’s juicy. It’s delicious, and the dipping sauce even seems elevated. It’s a yes for her also. Gordon loved them also, so he is a yes, and Foo gets a jacket.
  • Shompa – She is representing Bangladesh tonight. Gordon said visually, it looks elegant. The fish is cooked beautifully. The rice is seasoned well. Tiffany said the fish is gorgeous. The sauce has a fabulous flavor. Joe said he is shocked by how well the fish is cooked. They all loved it, so it’s an apron for her.

Two More Chefs Audition

Only two more aprons are available on “MasterChef” tonight. We have three more contestants taking center stage:

  • Tony – He is representing South Korea. Joe said he is drawn to the rice. It looks crispy. The steak is a little poached. The steak is overcooked. Gordon said the rice is delicious, but the ribeye is overcooked and lacking the sear a ribeye needs. Because of that, it’s a no from Gordon.
  • Iman – She is representing Afghanistan. I love her, but Gordon said the lamb is overcooked. Joe said he liked the chutney and the rice, but the lamb was dry. The plate is quite good, but with a protein like that, he can’t let it pass. For him, it’s a no.

The Auditions Continue

Chef Ramsay makes his way to the kitchen to check on the latest auditioners prepping their dishes. Now it’s time to taste:

  • Jaime – She is representing Malaysia. Jaime is a food influencer with almost 2 million followers. Tiffany said she loves the char she has on the skewers. It’s a beautiful plate. She said it’s giving street food vibes, but in the best ways. All that flavor is coming through. Joe said it’s a resounding yes from him. Gordon said from the first bite, he was a yes. Jaime has earned an apron.

One More Apron to Hand Out

We are down to the final apron of the night on “MasterChef” 2026. We have two chefs cooking now for the judges to taste. Gordon comes out to give some advice before they present the dishes:

  • Fatima – She is representing Pakistan. She learned cooking from her mom. Gordon said it smells great. Tiffany said it’s the kind of dish where there is nowhere to hide. Everything has to be mind-blowing. Gordon said the marsala is delicious, but it doesn’t need the honey. His lamb is undercooked. It’s a no from the judges.
  • Daniel – He is representing China. He started a culinary club at his school. Joe is baffled that he is representing China, but giving them a ravioli dish. Gordon said the ravioli looks amazing. He said it’s bloody good. Tiffany said it’s a well-executed dish. They loved it, so he got the final apron of the night.
