Michael Duarte, who is known to his followers as ‘FoodWithBearHands,’ tragically passed away, and his wife, Jessica, has now broken her silence.
The news was initially announced on a GoFundMe created after Duarte’s passing.
“It is with a heavy heart that we share the sad news that Michael Duarte passed away in a horrible incident on Saturday, November 8th during his travel in Texas. Michael’s death occurred just 3 short days after he and his wife celebrated their 9 year wedding anniversary,” the page said.
Jessica Duarte Vows To ‘Keep His Legacy Going’
Jessica posted a long message on her husband’s social media page, paying tribute to the food influencer, while also sharing a photo of their family, as the two share a 6-year-old daughter named Oakley.
“l’ve struggled with what to do since his passing so I’m doing what feels right and that’s sharing his stories. Whether they be about his content or Mike as my husband, daddy and friend to all,” she wrote. “I feel so touched and proud to know so many people that he has inspired over his time here on earth. I plan to keep his legacy going not only for him but his family.
He gave everyone every bit of him so it’s my turn to give it back. I’m not quite sure what that looks like yet but hopefully he will lead me on that path.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out. The outpouring love has really given me strength. I can feel him moving mountains❤️ a big thank you to my tribe & Mike’s BBQ community for making me feel like I have an army behind me. I’m still struggling with the fact that he is no longer with us but l’m starting to see his purpose was SO much bigger. I’m starting to see God work in mysterious ways that l’ve never experienced before and hoping that will bring our family some peace,” she continued. “We are working on arrangements for service and will provide more details when we have them.
“As for the media coverage surrounding his death, the false narratives are disheartening and disrespectful to the legacy of a wonderful man. This is an active investigation and I ask that all media and the public refrain from sharing unverified information,” she concluded. “Mike, I’m proud to be your wife and I will carry that title with honor for the rest of my life. See you on the other side, Daddy ❤️.”
