Rachael Ray and her husband, John Cusimano, are celebrating a major milestone — two decades of marriage. The celebrity chef, television personality, and cookbook author marked the occasion with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, reflecting on their journey together and the recipe that has kept their relationship thriving.
Rachael Ray Shares Sweet Anniversary Message
On Wednesday, Sept. 24, Ray, 57, posted a video of herself and Cusimano, 58, raising glasses in a toast before sharing a kiss. “For you, I’ll always pay the toll,” Ray wrote in her caption. “Two decades, one kitchen, and the right recipe all along.”
She continued, “I couldn’t let the day get away before saying Happy 20th anniversary to us! Our marriage has been the ultimate dinner party, always full of laughter, flavor and a little bit of spice. Happy anniversary my love! Here’s to many more!”
The couple originally tied the knot in Tuscany, Italy, on Sept. 25, 2005, before renewing their vows a decade later at the same castle where they first exchanged vows.

Ray and Cusimano met later in life but knew quickly they had found the right match. “John and I didn’t meet until later in life, and didn’t get married until we were almost 40,” Ray told People in 2021. “We knew who we were. … We’re very good with giving each other space to work on our passions.”
Cusimano has appeared alongside Ray on “The Rachael Ray Show,” offering viewers a glimpse into their partnership. “I don’t think either of us planned on spending the rest of our lives with anyone else,” he said on the show. “It all changed when we met.”
The pair first connected at a mutual friend’s party after nearly a year of being encouraged to meet. As Ray recalled, they noticed each other because they were both surrounded by taller guests. “I like to say we saw each other among a sea of knees,” Cusimano joked.
From that night on, they were inseparable. “We crossed a crowded room and started talking and we have talked every day since the night we met,” Ray shared.
Rachael Ray Credits John Cusimano As A True Partner
Ray has also spoken candidly about how they balance each other’s different worlds. On her podcast “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead,” she described Cusimano as both a lawyer and musician, while she admits she has no interest in legal documents.
“We balance each other in a weird way. We allow each other to be open to different worlds,” she explained.
She also credited him as an essential partner in both her life and career. “It was very important to me that I marry him because I thought this person could be a true partner in what I believe in and helping people and building not a business, but a community,” she said.
