Raymond Blanc ‘Humbled’ to Accept Prestigious Visionary Award

Celebrity chef Raymond Blanc OBE is this year’s winner of a most prestigious award. Blanc, 75, has been honored with the Visionary Award at the 2025 edition of the Walpole British Luxury Awards.

The event took place at the glamorous Dorchester Hotel in Park Lane, London — and Blanc was one of several winners in a variety of categories.

Frenchman Blanc — who is entirely self-taught in the kitchen — is the head chef at Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Great Milton, Oxfordshire, England. The high-end hotel-restaurant boasts two Michelin stars and scored a hugely impressive 9/10 in the highly respected Good Food Guide.

His television appearances include shows like “Food and Drink,” “Great Chefs of the World,” “Saturday Kitchen,” and “The Restaurant.”

Blanc’s culinary genius has seen him teach many famous chefs most of what they know, including Marco Pierre White, Heston Blumenthal, John Burton-Race, Paul Liebrandt, and Michael Caines. His legacy in that regard has certainly contributed to his winning of this latest accolade.

Raymond Blanc ‘Humbled’ and ‘Profoundly Honoured’ to Receive the Award

Raymond Blanc took to Instagram, where his profile has 188,000 followers, to make a post explaining his pride at winning the award.

Blanc’s caption on his post read, “Feeling incredibly humbled and profoundly honoured to accept the Visionary Award at the @walpole_uk Luxury Awards last night @thedorchester. This recognition means so much, acknowledging the journey and all I’ve strived for in the world of luxury. It was a joy to share this special night with Natalia and of course my @belmond family who came to celebrate alongside me. A truly memorable evening! 🥂”

The post contained a reel of three photographs from the Dorchester Hotel event. The first shows Blanc holding what appears to be a glass of pink Champagne, the second shows him proudly holding his award alongside British author Jasmine Hemsley (wearing a lovely green dress), and the third depicts him showing off his award on his own.

Blanc’s award is described on the British Luxury Awards website as follows: “This award honours an individual in the British luxury sector who has shown exceptional skills and expertise throughout their career, celebrates their signature ambition and flair, and recognises their unique impact on British luxury.”

Other winners on the night included the Royal Ballet and Opera, which won the WOLF Award for Future Legacy, Elvis & Kresse, which won Sustainable Luxury Brand of the Year, and Gusbourne, which won British Luxury Brand of the Year.
