Rebecca Gayheart recently spent time with her daughter, Georgia, following the death of her husband, Eric Dane. The mother and daughter were seen leaving the West Hollywood restaurant Sushi Park after dinner together on Tuesday evening, according to photos obtained by The Daily Mail.
Gayheart, 54, wore a tan coat, a high ponytail, and stylish glasses during the outing. The evening marked a quiet family moment as Gayheart and her daughters continue to mourn the loss of Dane, who died last month at 53.
Dane, widely known for playing Mark “McSteamy” Sloan on the long-running medical drama “Grey’s Anatomy,” revealed less than a year before his death that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
Rebecca Gayheart Celebrates Daughter Billie’s Sweet 16
The dinner outing came on the same day Gayheart celebrated a major milestone for the family. Her eldest daughter, Billie, turned 16, and Gayheart shared a heartfelt message on Instagram Stories honoring the occasion.
“Happy Sweet 16 to the sweetest girl — mommy loves you to the moon and back unconditionally forever and ever,” Gayheart wrote alongside a throwback photo of Billie as a young child.
Gayheart also shared photos of Billie with her late father.
Dane and Gayheart first met in 2003 and married in Las Vegas less than a year later. The couple separated in 2018 but called off their split in 2025. According to reports, Dane’s death certificate later revealed that the two remained legally married at the time of his passing.
Eric Dane’s Friends Launch GoFundMe to Support His Daughters
Following Dane’s death, friends of the actor launched a GoFundMe campaign to support his daughters.
“It is with profound sadness that we share the loss of Eric Dane after a hard-fought battle with ALS, leaving behind his devoted wife, Rebecca, and his two teenage daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,” the fundraiser description states.
“Following his diagnosis, Eric became a passionate spokesperson for the ALS community, using his voice and platform to advocate for fellow patients and to push for greater awareness,” the description reads.
“Even as his own health declined, he remained deeply committed to helping others facing the same devastating disease.”
Friends created the fundraiser to help provide stability for Dane’s daughters.
“Any contribution, no matter the size, will help provide stability during this incredibly difficult time and in the future for Eric’s wonderful daughters.”
Netflix Releases Eric Dane Documentary Featuring Final Message
Before his death, Dane recorded a deeply personal interview intended for release after he passed away. The project, a 50-minute documentary “Famous Last Words: Eric Dane,” was later added to Netflix.
According to reports, the interview was recorded secretly with the understanding that it would be released posthumously. During the documentary, Dane shared an emotional message directed at his daughters.
“Billie and Georgia, these words are for you. I tried. I stumbled sometimes, but I tried,” Dane said in the film. “Overall, we had a blast, didn’t we?”
Dane also shared four lessons he hoped his daughters would carry with them throughout their lives.
“First, live now, right now in the present. It’s hard, but I learned to do that,” he said. “Out of pure survival, I was forced to stay in the present.”
He encouraged his daughters to pursue their passions.
“Second, fall in love. Not necessarily with a person, although I do recommend that as well. But fall in love with something,” Dane said. “Find your passion, your joy. Find the thing that makes you wanna get up in the morning.”
Dane also spoke about the importance of friendship.
“Third, choose your friends wisely. Find your people and allow them to find you, and then give yourselves to them,” he said.
He concluded the message by urging his daughters to face life’s challenges with determination.
“Fight with every ounce of your being and with dignity,” Dane said. “This disease is slowly taking my body, but it will never take my spirit.”
He ended his message with an emotional goodbye.
“Billie and Georgia, you are my heart. You are my everything. Good night. I love you. Those are my last words.”
