Tim Curry’s 2012 Stroke Changed the Course of His Career

Doctors found two blood clots in Curry’s brain and performed emergency brain surgery. He remained in the hospital for about a month before starting rehabilitation.
According to USA Today, Curry had to learn how to speak again and eventually regained movement after experiencing partial paralysis. Painful sensitivity remained in his left arm and hand, and he continued using a wheelchair. The stroke sharply reduced Curry’s live-action work, but it did not end his career.
He continued performing voice roles and occasionally appeared at events with fans and former co-stars.
Curry made his final public appearance on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the 50th Anniversary Spectacular Tour for “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in New York City.
