Snooki Bravely Reveals She Was ‘Planning’ Her Funeral Amid Cancer Diagnosis

Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi recently revealed she had been diagnosed with stage 1 cervical cancer. While she has come to accept her diagnosis and treatment plan, the reality star opened up about her reaction to receiving the news.

Snooki Was Planning Her Funeral

During the Tuesday, May 19, episode of Kristin Cavallari’s “Let’s Be Honest” podcast, Snooki admitted she was terrified after learning her diagnosis.

“Like, hi, am I dying? What is going on?” she recalled thinking. “Yeah, I definitely had a breakdown. Like, oh my god, what am I going to do? Like, I got to get my will in place. Like, what’s going to happen? Like, planning my funeral. I was being so dramatic.”

She added, “But then like I did research, and I was like this is so common for women, and no one really talks about it.”

Snooki assured listeners that she is “going to be OK.”

“There are things I have to do, and I’ll be fine because stage one is like the best case scenario…I just have to get a hysterectomy and then just have to watch it for the rest of my life,” she said of her treatment plan. “But yeah, it’s scary when you hear the word cancer. You’re like, ‘Oh my god, like I’m dying. I have to do all these things and my body’s going to change.'”

Snooki’s Cancer Scare

The “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” star first revealed her health battle in a January TikTok video.

“It’s not easy being a woman, especially when it comes to appointments and going through these uncomfortable appointments and situations,” she began in a video shared via TikTok on January 21. “I’ve been having issues with getting abnormal results, precancerous cells in your cervix. I’ve been dealing with this for probably three or four years now, just making sure that there’s nothing that will escalate to cervical cancer.”

She added, “[The doctor] found cancerous cells in the top of my cervix.”

The mother of three later underwent a cone biopsy before receiving her official diagnosis.

“It’s scary, but we have to get it done because cervical cancer is nothing to joke about. And I obviously do not want to get this,” she continued, encouraging women to “stay on top” of their appointments.

Following her diagnosis, Snooki sat down with ABC’s Lara Spencer, where she revealed how her children took the news.

“They keep asking, ‘Are you dying?'” she recalled. “And I’m like, ‘No I’m not dying. I’m just sick and I need to figure it out and then mommy will be fine.'”

The MTV star went on to admit that accepting that she would need to undergo a hysterectomy was difficult.

“I know I’m done with kids, but just knowing that you can’t,” she told Spencer, getting emotional. “I don’t know, it made me feel like, I’m not a mom. I don’t know a lot of emotions went into my head. Even though I’m done.”

The “Flea Market Flip” star responded, “I’m sure you mourn the loss of your ability to have more children.”
