Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has been diagnosed with cervical cancer, and in an effort to raise awareness for the disease and for women’s reproductive health, the “Jersey Shore” alum is opening up about her health.
In an interview on “Good Morning America” with host Lara Spencer, Snooki said that having cervical cancer was “scary.” Her comments were revealed in a preview of the interview, obtained by Entertainment Weekly. She also spoke about the importance of getting a pap smear. “Knowing that this is actually preventative, just go to your appointments, and you won’t have to deal with this,” she said.
Snooki Bravely Reveals Cervical Cancer Update
Spencer also asked Snooki about any health regrets. “I do,” she said of having regret. “Like, why were you so scared? It’s literally a 10-minute appointment. You get it done, you figure it out, and then that’s it,” she said. Also in the interview, she revealed that she has to “get a hysterectomy because I’m stage 1 now.”
This is a preview of the full interview, which will delve into the details and be available on Thursday, April 23. Snooki has already been praised by her fans for sharing her cancer journey so openly and honestly. In February 2026, she shared her diagnosis in a TikTok video.
“It came back Stage 1 cervical cancer called adenocarcinoma,” she told fans in a video clip. “And obviously not the news I’ve been hoping for, but also not the worst news just because they caught it so early. Thank freaking God!”
She continued, “I’m 38 years old and I’ve been struggling with abnormal Pap smears for three or four years now, and now look at me. Instead of putting it off because I didn’t want to go, because I was hurt and scared, I just went and did it. And it was there, cancer is in there but it’s Stage 1 and it’s curable.”
Snooki is already a mom to three children, but in her TikTok video, she discussed her decision to have a hysterectomy. “Obviously, I think the smart choice here is the hysterectomy. I’ll still keep my ovaries, which is a good sign,” she said. “But yeah, gotta get the cervix and uterus out… It all depends on the PET scan.”
Snooki Receives Support From Fans
Ahead of her interview, Snooki shared that she would be on “Good Morning America” and posted a photo of herself and Spencer on Instagram. “GMA tomorrow – talking about my cervical cancer journey. thank you @goodmorningamerica,” she wrote in the caption. Fans and celebrities flooded the comment section with their support.
“I am so proud of you!,” a comment reads. “Thank you @snooki for shining a light on cervical cancer. @iamcervivor means you are not alone,” another person shared.
Other reactions include, “You’re one of the strongest women I’ve had the pleasure of knowing,” “So glad you’re shining a light on cervical cancer,” and “you’re not alone in your struggle with anxiety about dr appts, results, etc! Keep pushing through and take care! wishing you the best from NJ.”
