Aaron Carter’s mom is asking for help to secure a Hollywood Walk of Fame star for the late singer, starting a GoFundMe to cover the cost.
The fundraiser, created this week, has raised over $300 so far toward its $85,000 goal.
According to TMZ, Jane Carter Schneck said her son “would’ve loved” the idea, recalling how they used to walk along the Hollywood Walk of Fame together when he was younger.
“You’re going to be there someday,” Carter Schneck recalls telling her son at a young age, she told TMZ.
“Yeah,” her son confidently replied.
GettyCarter Schneck said the effort has support from his siblings including Angel and Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter.
Carter rose to fame as a child pop star in the late ’90s and early aughts with hits like “I Want Candy” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq.” He died in late 2022 at age 34.

GettyThe GoFundMe page says the funds raised would go toward the creation, installation, and long-term maintenance of the former “Dancing With the Stars” contestant.
“We are coming together as fans, friends, and supporters to honor Aaron Carter’s legacy. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer,” Carter Schneck wrote in the fundraiser’s description. “Let’s come together to celebrate Aaron’s life, his music, and the lasting mark he left on so many hearts.”
According to TMZ, Carter’s mom plans to submit the nomination paperwork before the May 15 deadline as part of the official selection process, which requires both an application and sponsorship fee.
Aaron Carter Died in 2022 at 34 Years Old
GettyAaron Carter died on November 5, 2022. He was 34.
His body was found in the bathtub of his home in Lancaster, California, by his housekeeper, according to People. Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a possible drowning. He was found before 11 a.m., though he was not immediately identified at the time.
At the time, his cause of death was not immediately clear, but in April 2023, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled his death accidental, the outlet reported. Carter reportedly drowned after becoming “incapacitated while in the bathtub” due to the effects of difluoroethane and alprazolam, the generic form of Xanax.
GettyFollowing his death, Carter’s family shared public tributes. His brother, Nick Carter, wrote that his “heart has been broken today,” while his twin sister Angel Carter said, “To lose a twin, it’s an out-of-body experience … I will carry you with me until the day I die.”
Carter is survived by his son, Prince, whom he shared with fiancée Melanie Martin. Martin later told TMZ the findings were “not closure” for her and said she still had questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
He was laid to rest in July 2023 at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles, People reported.

Here’s the thing: When he was alive Aaron Carter had the guts to try to expose his more famous brother as a sex offender and was completely villified for it. People accused him of being an attention seeker, jealous etc. After his death it was found that he was right all along and was villified for nothing. His courage earns him a star in my book.
