Eminem’s Ex Involved in Car Crash

Kim Scott, the ex-wife of Eminem, was reportedly involved in a car incident in Michigan on Feb. 16. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Scott, 51, is facing two misdemeanor charges related to the situation. Her attorney, Michael Smith, told the outlet she had not been arrested as of Tuesday and said he was unaware of any active warrant, adding that she would turn herself in if one is issued.

Per TMZ, the incident occurred in the evening while Scott was out with her teenage son and his friends. Authorities were later contacted, and she was taken to a hospital for evaluation before being discharged.

While the situation is still unfolding, Scott has largely remained out of the public spotlight in recent years, focusing on family life.

From Teen Sweethearts to Lifelong Coparents

Scott’s history with Eminem, born Marshall Mathers III, dates back to 1988, when the two met as teenagers in Michigan. Their relationship spanned nearly two decades and included two marriages, first from 1999 to 2001 and again briefly in 2006.

They welcomed their daughter, Hailie Jade, on Christmas Day in 1995. Per In Touch Weekly, the couple’s relationship was often on and off, particularly during the height of Eminem’s early fame. Despite the ups and downs, both remained connected through the family they built together.

Beyond Hailie, Eminem adopted Scott’s daughter Stevie in 2005 and her niece Alaina in the early 2000s, expanding their blended family. As Parade previously reported, Scott said in 2016 that she and the rapper were “really close friends” and focused on raising their children as normally as possible.

Eminem has frequently spoken about how fatherhood shifted his priorities. In a 2004 interview with Rolling Stone, he explained that once he’s home, “that’s when I’m Dad,” emphasizing that being present for his children is his most important responsibility.

A New Generation and a New Chapter

In recent years, much of the attention surrounding the family has centered on milestones rather than headlines. Hailie, now 30, graduated from Michigan State University and married longtime partner Evan McClintock. In March 2025, she welcomed her first child, Elliot Marshall McClintock, making both Scott and Eminem grandparents.

Alaina married in 2023, while Stevie has largely stayed out of the spotlight. Over time, the narrative surrounding Scott and Eminem has evolved from their early, highly publicized years to one centered on family and shared commitment to their children, per Page Six.

As Eminem once told British publication Q about becoming a father, “Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie … the money — it’s for her college.”
