’80s Band Pauses Tour for Member’s Cancer Recovery

Heart, the iconic rock band led by sisters Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, was forced to pause its Royal Flush Tour in July 2024 after Ann revealed she was undergoing treatment for cancer.

At the time, the group announced the dates were postponed for medical reasons but promised fans that all tickets would be honored once the shows were rescheduled.

Nancy reassured fans directly in a Facebook post, writing,

“HELLO beloved Heartmongers and noble Heart fans! Happy to let you all know that the HEART tour is still coming your way, but we need to take a temporary pause… From the end of the world to your town! See you guys soon. Can’t wait. Love rules.”

Ann Wilson Shares Emotional Health Update

Ann later shared her journey openly with fans. In September 2024, she posted a video on Facebook, revealing she had successfully completed chemotherapy. “I’m doing absolutely fine now but it’s been, to put it mildly, a lot. Chemo is no joke,” she said.

She added that her latest test results were “the good kind,” telling fans, “I’m excited to share with you that I’m now finished with chemo & I’m officially ready to get ready for the tour in 2025!”

Royal Flush Tour Resumes & Expands

The Royal Flush Tour officially resumed on May 31, 2025, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, with more than 30 dates added across the U.S. Initially set to conclude in August, the run was extended through December.

On September 16, Heart announced the tour is now continuing into 2026. The new leg begins Feb. 15 in Duluth, Georgia, and currently runs through March 15 in Fishers, Indiana. All announced shows so far are U.S.-based, though fans are hopeful for international stops.

Fans Celebrate Heart’s Resilience

Fans quickly rallied around the Wilson sisters following the announcement. “We would love you to come back to the UK if possible. I had tickets for the Royal Flush Tour in Birmingham, England. Wishing you health and happiness,” one fan commented.

Another supporter praised Ann’s strength: “Hope there will be more dates added, including Vancouver BC. Or at least Seattle, WA. Ann is such a strong woman to tour after her battle with cancer. Prayers up and tobacco down for continued healing and strength.”

With Ann’s recovery and the band’s renewed energy, Heart shows no sign of slowing down. Decades after their rise in the ’80s, the sisters continue to prove why they remain one of rock’s most powerful acts.
