Country singer J.D. Graham is beginning the long road to recovery after a near-fatal semi-truck crash left him with multiple broken bones and him fighting for his life. Just days after speaking to fans from a hospital bed in a neck brace, Graham shared an update that he has now been released from the hospital.
J.D. Graham Celebrates 21st Wedding Anniversary After Hospital Release
“Got out of the hospital today and that update is coming, but today is all about this lady sitting next to me,” he wrote on social media, marking a deeply personal milestone.
“It’s our 21st anniversary, and I’m not sure how I would’ve made it all these years without her by my side. I love you more than you’ll ever know. You are my Oklahoma Baby. Happy anniversary, sweetheart. Let’s do it again next year.
His message shifted from medical updates to gratitude.
“I’ll give everybody an update on my condition soon,” he added.
“I’ve got a long road ahead of me, and I’m super grateful for everyone’s outpouring of support, thoughts, and prayers. I don’t know what the immediate future looks like, but I don’t need to because all I’ve got is today, and I’m grateful for God and his grace.”
Feb. 25 Hospital Bed Video Reveals Severity of Injuries
Just days earlier, on Feb. 25, Graham addressed fans from his hospital bed in a Facebook Reel. Wearing a neck brace and hospital gown, he spoke candidly about his condition.
“I’m barely alive here. Thank you, guys, I’m still discombobulated but my daughter said that people are helping me out with some things … broken back, broken ribs, broken heart,” he said.
He also shared a heartbreaking detail. His dog died in the crash.
“It’s a tragedy, and thank you guys for the support, and I hope to see you guys soon. I’m not too worried about music stuff right now, at all, I’ve just got to get better. Just giving you guys an update, later, love you,” he added.
The video caption read, “Dad wanted to make sure he personally gives everyone an update. The devil works hard but God works harder. Thank you for your continued support.”
Family Details Horrific Semi-Truck Collision
According to a GoFundMe created by his daughters, Destiny and Sydney, the crash occurred Feb. 24 on an interstate highway.
“On February 24, my dad, Jeremy Graham, was involved in a very serious accident on the interstate. He was hit by one semi and then slammed into another. The crash was severe, and first responders had to cut him out of his vehicle,” they wrote.
“He was taken to a nearby hospital, and then life-flighted to a trauma center in Texas, where he is currently being treated.”
The page further explained, “He has a broken neck, a broken back, and several broken ribs, and he will be unable to walk for some time.”
His daughters had earlier stated that recovery will likely be long and difficult.
Music Community Rallies as Long Recovery Begins
Support has continued to build in the days since the crash. Fans and fellow musicians have rallied around Graham, pushing his GoFundMe past $69,270 as of publication. A benefit concert is also planned at Bird’s Nest Listening Room in Dunn, North Carolina, as the community steps up for the family.
“When he is finally able to return home, he will have a long road ahead with extensive physical and mental rehabilitation. It’s going to take time, patience, and a lot of strength,” Destiny and Sydney wrote.
They also thanked supporters for their “calls, messages, prayers, and support,” and expressed gratitude “for continuing to keep him in your prayers and for loving our family so well.”
In January, Graham shared that his wife Amy had “recently finished her own battle with cancer and, because of her own medical challenges, is unable to work right now,” adding to the emotional and financial strain the family now faces.
The crash came just as Graham was preparing to release his upcoming project, “Uppers and Downers,” on March 6.
For now, the spotlight is not on the stage. It is on healing.
