Beloved Country Singer Hospitalized After Devastating Semi-Truck Crash

The country music world is holding JD Graham close after the singer-songwriter was critically injured in a devastating crash involving two semi-trucks. From a hospital bed, Graham reached out to fans Wednesday in a deeply emotional Facebook video.

His voice was calm but clearly shaken as he shared the update, telling fans that right now his only priority is getting through each day and focusing on recovery.

‘I’m Barely Alive’: Graham Speaks From Hospital Bed After Devastating Crash

“Hey folks. Here I sit,” he said. “I’m barely alive here. Thank you, guys. I’m still discombobulated, but my daughter said that people are helping out with some things. We got a broken back, broken ribs, broken heart, and a dog died that was in the car with me.

“It’s a tragedy,” he added. “Thank you, guys, for the support, and I hope to see you guys soon. I’m not too worried about music stuff right now at all. I just got to get better. Just giving you guys an update. Later. Love you.”

Graham Airlifted to Trauma Center After Interstate Crash

According to a GoFundMe launched by his daughter, Destiny Graham, the crash occurred Feb. 24 on the interstate and left her father with severe injuries.

“My dad, Jeremy Graham, was involved in a very serious accident on the interstate,” Destiny wrote. “He was hit by one semi and then slammed into another. The crash was severe, and first responders had to cut him out of his vehicle. He was taken to a nearby hospital, and then life-flighted to a trauma center in Texas, where he is currently being treated.”

She said doctors are still conducting tests to understand the extent of his injuries fully.

“He has a broken neck, a broken back, and several broken ribs, and he will be unable to walk for some time,” the post continued. “Watching something go through something like this has been incredibly hard for all of us.”

The family now faces what Destiny described as a long and uncertain road to recovery.

Family Braces for Long Road to Recovery

Destiny described the road ahead as long and uncertain. Graham’s wife, Amy, recently finished cancer treatment and is unable to work, placing additional strain on the family during an already overwhelming time.

“As many of you know, my dad travels all over the country for his job and had many important shows coming up that he now won’t be able to attend,” she wrote.

“Life doesn’t slow down, though bills still come, responsibilities continue, and right now we don’t even know how long we will need to stay here in Texas or when we will be able to go home.”

When he is strong enough to return home, Destiny said, he will begin extensive physical and mental rehabilitation.

“If you know my dad, you know the kind of person he is,” she added. “He is the best grandpa, dad, husband, and friend anyone could ask for, and the support being shown to him right now means everything to our family.

“Thank you for continuing to put him in your prayers and for loving our family so well.”

The family says the outpouring of support has been a source of comfort as they prepare for the long recovery ahead.
