One of the members of the iconic British musical girl group the Spice Girls has revealed some juicy gossip about her bandmates.
Melanie Chisholm — more famously known as Mel C, Melanie C, or Sporty Spice — is arguably the unsung star of the group. She is undoubtedly the Spice Girl with the most distinctive and powerful voice. As a result, she often gets described as their strongest and most technically capable vocalist.
Per Page Six, the 52-year-old star has been using her voice in a different way of late — to spill the beans regarding which of her co-members in the Spice Girls was “the most boy crazy” and enjoyed the best success rate with men at the height of the group’s fame in the 1990s.
As a reminder, the Spice Girls were Mel C, Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice).
Mel C Says Mel B Was the Most ‘Boy Crazy’ Spice Girl
GettyDuring a recent episode of Cosmopolitan’s “Blind Date” digital series and podcast, Mel C revealed to the publication’s Editor-in-Chief Willa Bennett that her fellow Melanie, Mel B, was the most “boy crazy” of the Spice Girls back in the day.
Mel C said, “I would say the best success rate…” before noting that she was “trying to find a better way of putting it.”
She then continued, “Scary Spice was very popular.”
Mel B, aka Scary Spice, is, of course, Melanie Brown.
Now 51, Brown is a singer, songwriter, dancer, television personality, and actress. More accurately, due to her being married to British hairstylist and entrepreneur Rory McPhee, she is currently officially known as Melanie Brown McPhee.
Famously, she was in a relationship with the legendary comedian and actor Eddie Murphy in 2006. The couple have a child together, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, who was born in 2007.
While pretty much everyone had their favorite Spice Girl in the group’s heyday, it’s certainly interesting to know that Mel B was the member who had the most success with boys.
After she was asked who gave the best dating advice in the group, Mel C named Mel B again. She elaborated by saying “because she’s a cool girl.”
Mel C Is a Busy Lady This Year

Perhaps most pertinently, per her official Instagram account, she has a world tour planned.
The tour begins on Tuesday, September 8, in Montreal, Canada. It comes to a conclusion on Sunday, November 15, in Sydney Australia.
Mel C will also perform in various locations across the United States, England, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Germany, and Japan on her tour.
Special guest performances on the tour will come from English singer-songwriter Sophie and the Giants and New Zealand singer-songwriter Cassie Henderson.
Per Discogs, Mel C’s latest album, “Sweat,” also released this year. It includes the eponymous album track and singles called “Drum Machine,” “Til it Breaks,” “Pressure,” “Emotional Memory,” “Attitude,” “Good for Nothing,” “Undefeated Champion,” “Cashmere,” “Free to Love,” “One Track Mind,” “Flick of the Wrist,” and “What Could Possibly Go Wrong?”
According to the official website of the UK Charts, having first appeared in the charts on May 14, it immeditately peaked at number three.
