Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards Expecting Second Baby With Fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Former Little Mix member Perrie Edwards is expanding her family!

She announced on Saturday, September 6, that she and fiancé Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are expecting their second child—sharing the joyful news just weeks after publicly opening up about her painful experiences with pregnancy loss.

Edwards, 32, revealed the news in a playful Instagram video, donning a shirt that read “If He Wanted To He Would…” on the back and “…and He Did!” on the front, before turning to show off her baby bump.

Her fiancé and their 3-year-old son Axel then joined her on screen, closing the sweet moment with hugs and kisses.

Edwards captioned the sweet video by writing, “Guess what hunnies…” and added a red heart emoji.

Fans were quick to express their joy for the singer.

“Congratulations to you all. So happy for you,” one user wrote.

Another added, “Crying happy tears 😭 Couldn’t be happier for you all! Congratulations.”

A Heartfelt Reveal After Past Losses

The pregnancy announcement comes on the heels of emotionally raw revelations from Edwards about her journey through grief.

On the “We Need to Talk” podcast in mid-August, she tearfully shared details of two miscarriages—one very early in pregnancy and another, more devastating, at 24 weeks.

The second loss occurred shortly after Axel was born, during rehearsals for Little Mix’s final tour, when a scan revealed there was no heartbeat.

She described the pain of that day as “the worst day of my life,” and noted that the loss was especially hard given how far she had progressed and the plans she and Alex had already begun to make.

She bravely opened up and said, “I was just traumatized.”

Edwards added, “I think when you’re fully carrying and you’re 24 weeks and you’ve planned out like their room and all these things, it’s really hard.”

Love, Resilience & Support

The “Forget About Us” singer noted just how difficult it is to go through a loss.

“It’s a very private thing for women. You don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors for women and pregnancy is scary. It’s worrying,” Edwards said. “There’s so many things that come with being pregnant and the stresses and the scans and the complications.”

Her fiancé, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, has been a calming, steady presence, offering emotional support as she navigated her grief and continued to pursue her solo music career.

During the podcast, she added how Oxlade-Chamberlain is always supportive of her. “Like, everything I do, he’s my biggest fan,” she added.

Since Little Mix went on hiatus in 2022, Edwards has embarked on a solo career, releasing the singles “Tears” and “You Go Your Way,” and most recently “If He Wanted To He Would”—the title echoed in her pregnancy-reveal video.
