New Video Shows Alice Cooper and Wife Sheryl’s Stunning Vow Renewal
A new video clip showed the rock and roll superstar and his wife, Sheryl Goddard, as they renewed their vows on March 21 to celebrate five decades of marriage. The couple, who first wed in 1976, celebrated the momentous occasion with their loved ones at the historic Wrigley Mansion in Phoenix.
Although the event took place three months ago, a series of videos and photos were recently shared on Instagram, celebrating the reaffirmation of their vows. The newly released footage offered fans a closer look at the emotional ceremony and the couple’s milestone celebration.
PEOPLE Magazine, who originally reported the story, said that Sheryl’s 92-year-old father, William Goddard, reprised his role as officiant. The couple’s children Calico, Dashiell, and Sonora attended, as did the couple’s grandchildren.
The couple met when Sheryl auditioned for a role as a dancer during Cooper’s 1975 “Welcome to My Nightmare” Tour. They married one year later.
The rocker, best known for his outrageous stage performances, told Billboard that he never wants to be apart from Sheryl. “We’ve both been in show business all our lives,” he continued. “When we’re onstage, she’s not Sheryl, my wife.”
“She’s the character, and I’m the character. We don’t look at each other as husband and wife onstage. But the great thing is, afterwards, we’re on tour. We’re never apart. It’s great.”
Alice Cooper Set the Record Straight After Relationship Rumors Surfaced Online
In 2019, Alice Cooper clapped back at reports that he and his wife, Sheryl had a “death pact.” Rumors regarding their union came after the “School’s Out” singer gave an interview in the British press that was misunderstood.
He told Billboard, “They said, ‘What happens if one of you dies?’ and I said, ‘Oh, that’ll never happen. We’ve always talked about the fact we’ll go together, in an airplane or…if I walk down the street and get hit by lightning, she’ll die too because of the fact she’s right next to me.’ The next thing you know, the paper comes out, and it goes ‘Alice’s Death Pact With Wife!’”
Following, Cooper took to Instagram to clarify his remarks. “Sheryl and I do NOT have a death pact, we have a LIFE pack,” he wrote. “We love life so much.”
“What I was meaning was that because we’re almost always together, at home and on the road, if something did happen to either of us, we’d most likely be together at the time. But neither of us has a pact. We have a life pact. And, besides, I’m booked through 2028, so…”
Alice Cooper is currently on tour, per his official website.
