Nancy Guthrie lives in a secluded neighborhood outside of Tucson, Arizona. New video shared by NBC News proves why investigators may find it difficult to uncover relevant footage from the time she was abducted.
Video of Nancy Guthrie’s Neighborhood
NBC News’ Liz Kreutz was on the ground outside Guthrie’s home, giving viewers a look around her neighborhood during Tuesday night’s newscast.
“To give you a sense, this is what the neighborhood looks like,” Kreutz said on Tuesday, February 3. “Many of the homes are on these big lots, set back from the street. With all this tall, dry vegetation blocking any view of the road.”
She continued, “There’s also no street lights here, making capturing video in the middle of the night even harder.”
The neighborhood report comes after a video began circulating online showing the front porch of Guthrie’s house.
Brian Entin, a senior national correspondent at News Nation, captioned the video and later shared it to X.
“You can see here the Ring camera is missing from Nancy Guthrie’s front door,” he wrote alongside the clip. What appears to be blood splatters are seen on the tiled porch.
Nancy Guthrie Remains Missing
The 84-year-old was last seen Saturday evening when her eldest daughter, Annie Guthrie, dropped her off at home after a family dinner. After friends noticed Guthrie’s absence at church on Sunday morning, her children were informed.
They later contacted authorities after searching their mother’s home and property and noticing something was awry.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos later revealed that investigators have reason to believe Guthrie was taken from her home “against her will.”
Nanos claimed they are “not going to rule out” the possibility that Guthrie was targeted.
“You know, we are working with Savannah. We’re working with her security team,” Nanos told NewsNation Live on Tuesday, February 3. “And no, we don’t, we don’t know that. We’re not going to rule it out, but nothing’s pointing to her being targeted at this moment.”
Savannah Guthrie Asks for Prayers
The “Today” host took to social media on Monday, February 2, to plead with followers to pray for her mother’s safe return.
“We believe in prayer. We believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. We believe in goodness. We believe in humanity. Above all, we believe in Him,” she captioned a photo that simply read, “Please pray.” “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant.”

Prayers rising for you tonight and all nights until her safe return. “HE will keep in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee”.
