Nicole Kidman Reveals Beloved ‘Practical Magic’ Scene Will Get a Nod in the Sequel

As fans eagerly await the arrival of “Practical Magic 2,” one of the movie’s stars, Nicole Kidman — who appeared in both the 1998 original and new film alongside Sandra Bullock — has revealed a major detail about the sequel.

It turns out that the next Owens family adventure will include a nod to one of the most memorable and beloved scenes from the original witchy story.

Sitting down for an interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Kidman opened up about the new film, which prompted the host to ask, “Is there going to be another midnight margarita scene?”

“Oh, yeah,” Kidman replied.

When Fallon responded with another question — “There is?” — Kidman nodded her head while confirming what she said, adding, “Yeah.”

Fans Are Super Excited About ‘Practical Magic 2’

After Kidman revealed that a reference to — or a new version of — the significant “Practical Magic” scene would pop up in the new flick, Entertainment Tonight shared an Instagram post featuring the exciting info, adding a caption and writing, “Midnight margaritas are back on the menu! Nicole Kidman stopped by ‘The Tonight Show’ and confirmed that the Owens ladies will be putting the 𝓵𝓲𝓶𝓮 𝓲𝓷 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓬𝓸𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓾𝓽 again! 🍹”

In response, fans made it clear that they’re thrilled about the sequel.

One person left a comment, saying, “This will be the cultural peak for Millennials. Our favourite magic movie is coming back❣️😉”

“This is one of my favorite movies ever omg I can’t wait! 🔥🔥👏👏,” another person added.

Another social media user and movie lover popped in a comment, writing, “Can’t wait 🍋‍🟩🔮”

There’s no doubt that there are plenty of beloved scenes in “Practical Magic.” At the same time, the midnight margaritas moment might be the most memorable of them all.

“While memories of the exact twists and turns of this excellent movie fade with time, what seems to stand out for most fans of this 1998 film is the singular midnight margaritas scene,” according to Eater.

If you need a refresher on the scene, Eater explains that “Gillian [Kidman] giddily wakes Sally [Bullock] up to the sound of the blender and the pair scream, ‘Midnight margaritas!’ while kicking off the sheets to seamlessly fall into boozy uninhibited celebration, elatedly dancing and conga lining around the kitchen island” with their whimsical aunts.

Eater goes on to note that “viewers can’t help but admire this midnight margaritas scene, which feels so real — perhaps in part because the actors were a little drunk for portions of the shoot. Replace margaritas with wine and these women could be my own family, the women staying up late after all the kids and partners have gone to bed, communing raucously over a bottle … Women can be guarded, especially when it comes to familial relationships. But if you’re lucky, there are moments when these barriers fall away and we get to comfortably co-exist. If that happens to be over late night/early morning margaritas and some minor spell-casting, so be it.”
