Can you believe we are fast approaching the 32nd anniversary of the release of “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective”? Tom Shadyac’s comedy was released on February 4, 1994.
It starred Jim Carrey as the eponymous animal detective who gets tasked with finding Snowflake, the abducted bottlenose dolphin mascot of the Miami Dolphins football team.
It formed part of an incredibly successful 12 months for Carrey, who was arguably the biggest movie star in the world that year, going on to star in both superhero caper “The Mask” and the buddy comedy “Dumb and Dumber.” Carrey also co-wrote the screenplay for “Ace Ventura.”
