‘Blind Side’ Actor Gave ‘Thumbs Up’ While On Life Support: REPORT

‘The Blind Side’ actor Quinton Aaron is on life support due to a severe blood infection after he collapsed at his home last week, but his health appears to be improving. And with that, Aaron gave a reassuring sign at the hospital.

The actor’s wife, Margarita, told TMZ on Monday, Jan. 27, that he “opened his eyes today and gave a thumbs up.” She added that the “medical devices helping keep Quinton alive aren’t doing all the work,” with the actor being able to partially breathe on his own.

The GoFundMe set up for the actor also included an update that he “opened his eyes and has some feeling in his foot.”

Quinton Aaron Has Rare Cyst On Spine

On Tuesday, Jan. 27, TMZ reports that doctors discovered a rare cyst on Aaron’s spine, which was discovered after “a series of tests.” Doctors are still trying to determined whether it’s benign.

And with that, doctors are considering surgery, which could leave Aaron “confined to a wheelchair for some time,” while he recovers.

The actor was first rushed to the hospital when his “legs suddenly gave out while he was walking in his apartment.” His wife, Margarita, added (per TMZ) that Aaron’s legs went numb while walking up the stairs, which led to them calling the paramedics. In the ambulance, he was in and out of consciousness.

But, before he collapsed, Aaron told his wife that he was having back and neck pain that ultimately went down to his legs.

‘Blind Side’ Actor Shared a Message On Instagram Following Quinton Aaron News

Jae Head portrayed Sean Tuohy Jr., Aaron’s adopted brother, in the popular movie “The Blind Side.” And following news of Aaron’s medical situation, he posted on Instagram.

“Yesterday i got a call that Quinton is in the hospital in the ICU because he passed out at home and is in pretty bad shape. Q is one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the opportunity to meet. He’s one of my best friends. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers. He has a GoFundMe if you would like to support. (Link in Bio) @officialquintonaaron,” Jae Head wrote.

The GoFundMe had a goal of $35,000, but by Tuesday afternoon, that number had already been surpassed. The money is going towards helping his family as they face “an immense emotional and financial burden — including mounting medical-related expenses, ongoing living costs, and the uncertainty of how long this road to recovery may be.”
