‘The Blind Side’ Actor Shows Signs of Improvement on Life Support

“The Blind Side” actor Quinton Aaron, 41, is showing signs of improvement following his collapse at his home last week, his wife, Margarita, told TMZ.

Margarita said that although her husband is on life support, he is “a fighter,” adding, “He’s showing a lot of improvement. We all have faith in God that he will walk out of here fully recovered.”

Aaron’s wife shared that he isn’t completely relying on the breathing machine to keep himself alive, noting that the actor is partially breathing on his own.

The actor’s wife also confirmed that Aaron has a blood infection, leading to doctors ordering a series of tests to determine causes and treatments. He has been hospitalized for four days at this point, but Margarita and their family remain hopeful as they witness Aaron slowly making his way back to life.

Margarita told TMZ that before her husband collapsed in their home, he woke up several days earlier feeling aches in his neck and back. He thought it was due to a rough night of sleep. But when the physical pain persisted for several days, it eventually led to Aaron losing feeling in his legs while walking up the stairs.

Margarita, a registered nurse, told the outlet that when Aaron’s legs became numb, she quickly helped him walk to a couch where he rested as she called 911. When paramedics finally arrived at their home, Aaron’s condition had worsened. While in the ambulance, he was in and out of consciousness.

TMZ first broke the news of Aaron’s health crisis after his manager revealed details of his collapse to them on Sunday, Jan. 25.

In October 2025, Aaron revealed a staggering weight loss of 200 lbs. Before losing the weight, the “War Dawgz” actor was 575 lbs. At the time, he told Fox News Digital that he was motivated to shed the excess weight after he was faced with a near-death experience.

“I had this come-to-Jesus kind of moment a few years back,” he told the outlet. “There’s one day I’m sitting there on the wall, and I’m just listening to the water vibe, and then I wake up underwater. So I literally passed out, fell off the wall, and it was like a 12-foot drop, but the water was only three feet deep. I didn’t know that at the time. Well, thank God it was three feet deep, because I can’t swim.” 

Aaron said that he felt a severe pain in his neck and back, much like what his wife described of his current state, but when he heard an angelic voice tell him to “Stand up,” he miraculously stood up and walked himself out of the water.

The actor recalled to the outlet that when he was in recovery mode, he had a face-to-face moment with God that he believes “rewired” him to want to transform his life and become healthier. “God visited me, and he was like, ‘Do you want to die?’ And I said, ‘No.’ And I didn’t know who I’m answering, but I hear this voice talking to me,” Aaron bravely recalled of his unique moment. “And he goes, ‘So what are you gonna do?’ And I said, ‘I need help.’”
