Aaron’s wife, Margarita, told TMZ that he first woke up several days earlier with pain in his neck and back, which he initially believed was caused by a poor night’s sleep. When the pain worsened and failed to ease, it eventually led to him losing feeling in his legs while climbing the stairs in their home.

As a registered nurse, Margarita acted quickly, helped him to a couch, and immediately called 911. By the time paramedics arrived, his condition had declined further.

During the ambulance ride to the hospital, Aaron drifted in and out of consciousness. His manager, Katrina Fristoe, told TMZ that Aaron was rushed to an emergency room for urgent medical care.

TMZ was first to report on Aaron’s hospitalization on Sunday, January 25, after speaking with Aaron’s manager.

The GoFundMe page later disclosed that the actor is now battling a severe blood infection connected to the incident. Despite remaining on life support and undergoing further testing, Aaron’s family has shared encouraging updates. They confirmed that he has opened his eyes and regained some feeling in his foot.

Doctors have cautioned that recovery will take time, but loved ones say the progress has brought renewed hope as he continues treatment. He has now been hospitalized for four days.

Remembering His Breakout Role in ‘The Blind Side’
