Sandra Bullock showed off a cryptic new tattoo following the death of her partner, Bryan Randall.
The 62-year-old actress debuted the new ink on her shoulder at the European premiere of her new film, “Practical Magic 2,” as she posed for photos on the red carpet.
Bullock made a statement in an off-the-shoulder leopard-print Givenchy gown that highlighted her shoulder tattoo. The design appeared to feature the cursive letters “LB,” followed by a superscript “2” at the end.
Although Bullock has not publicly spoken about her tattoo, the ambiguous design appears to be a nod to the initials of her son Louis, 16, daughter Laila, 12, and late partner Bryan, who died in 2023 after a battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), per E! News.

In August 2023, Randall died after a three-year battle with ALS, following his diagnosis in 2020. Bullock, who had been in a relationship with him for eight years, stayed out of the spotlight in the wake of his passing.
Bullock first met Randall in January 2015, when he photographed her son Louis’s birthday. The couple kept their relationship largely private, rarely sharing details about their life together.
In December 2021, Bullock called Randall the “love of my life” while opening up about her thoughts on marriage.

The actress continued, “I don’t wanna say do it like I do it, but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”

Randall’s ALS diagnosis wasn’t made public until after his death, with Bullock later revealing that he had specifically asked her to keep his condition private.
“He asked me not to share,” the actress revealed during the August 24 episode of the SmartLess podcast. “I know why he asked me not to, and it isolated me in the process.”
Bullock continued, “At first, I thought, ‘Oh, I can handle that. I can be quiet,’” but keeping the diagnosis private proved easier said than done.
The actress recalled balancing Randall’s care with raising her two children during the COVID-19 pandemic, describing the experience as “a trifecta that was pretty dark.”
Reflecting on her grief, Bullock admitted that the grieving process began long before Randall’s death.
“I started grieving Bryan four years before he passed,” Bullock said. “Like something in my said, ‘Start the grieving now.’ Because I knew I would be the caregiver. And I could see, like the bright eyes that I knew, there was something that had shifted. It is a traumatic diagnosis.”
The actress continued, “My person left a lot earlier than the body left. I don’t think I ever dealt with that until after he passed, because you’re just on this treadmill.”
